Hotel Casa Del Sur — Hotel in Canoas

I happened to stay at this hotel twice, each time for one night. Check-in was quick on both occasions. We paid $40 per night. The hotel itself is old, and many things might be broken or not work properly. However, the room was clean overall.

One of the advantages was the very large and comfortable bed. We also decided to have dinner at the restaurant on the ground floor, and despite the late hour, they accepted our order. The dishes pleasantly surprised us—everything was fresh and very tasty. The portions, as is typical in Costa Rica, were large.

Overall, I recommend this hotel if you need...

Very bad place. Do not stay here! The people running the place (one woman in particular) were extremely rude and hassling people to check out at 8 in the morning. They were banging on peoples doors even though they had a crying baby inside. They are charging 13,000 CRC per person, which is so expensive for what you get! The pool was not usable, it was disgustingly unclean. A very disappointing stay which was a shame because we had heard good things about this place, but we think there is new ownership. There are plenty of other places to stay in Canoas so try...

Simple rooms, paid 45 dollars a night breakfast included. Very simple but rooms have ac, cable and hot shower.My husband said the swimming pool was a bit nasty. If you sleep downstairs you can find some cockroaches...
