The lodge facility was great. The people running and serving the lodge were top rate. No AC, but big fans in rooms. It is a large lodge, so if you do not wish to share with over 20 other fishermen, perhaps not a good choice. We were fortunate that was not the case when we were there.
The weather was terrible during our stay (wind and heavy rain) and Tarpon fishing was not an option due to wave conditions. River fishing is touted as the other option. Don't expect to catch Mojarra in the river... fished out. Don't expect to catch Guapote in the river... fished out. The Machaca fish are small and few and do not bite well in the rain. We observe a pair of locals at the mouth of the Pacuare River catch about a 80 lb Tarpon. Killed it, gutted it, chopped of its head and hauled it off. A fish that big is likely 25 years or older.
