Hotel Vista al Tortuguero — Hotel in Cariari

This hotel is very rustic and simple but is a great value. We used this hotel as the place to stay before going to the docks for the boat ride to Tortuguero. The owner doesn't speak English but was very understanding and helpful with my limited Spanish, the rest of the staff were so polite and helpful. It's also located at the very edge of the main strip of Cariari, so you are within walking distance of many restaurants. This hotel is also in partnership with several hotels and restaurants on Tortuguero, so we got arrangements for tours and potentially more accommodation from José, an agent from the partnership. He was very professional and got us a great private tour for a great price, and personally set us up for access to the amenities of the partner hotels on Tortuguero like their pool and bar, just because we booked a tour and stayed at this hotel. This was the perfect place for us to stay 1 night as we where heading to Tortuguero. We arrived around 6.00 p.m and even tough the lady at the front desk did not speak English, there was a nice young guy who did and helped translate. He helped with everything we needed to do to check in. We found out quickly that the lady was the owner named Karen and even tough she had a difficult time communicating with us , she went well beyond our expectations in showing us the room , how the tv work and if we needed to get something to eat.
