Rooms had spiders, ants, geckos and many other bugs. Had to be very careful where you stood outside because the fire ants were so bad. I could deal with no AC, no hot water, and beans and rice every night but I would at least like to have a bug / insect free room to lay down and sleep at night. The excursions on Tortuguero were really nice, watching sea turtles lay their eggs was a once in a lifetime experience, the boat ride through the national park and shopping were all great experiences. There were stains(including blood) and bugs all in the sheets, cracks in the doors to where thousands of big black beetles got in. Several people who have slept bare in the woods had panic attacks from the huge beetles coming in. We were supposed to stay for two days and it’s so bad we only stayed for one. We stayed in tents the night before and this was...
