In February 2025, I hosted a yoga retreat at the lodge. The hosts were unbelievably helpful in every way. Mahar helped me to arrange for a wonderful private driver and bus for our group. He helped coordinate a private cook to prepare all our meals, and the food was amazing. He helped connect me to a local guide who took us on the best excursions. He even helped arrange massage therapists to come to the lodge. He was responsive and always cheerful and ready to answer my questions. The lodge owners even split the cost with me to bring in the yoga mats, blocks, and blankets that we needed. Now, those props are available at the lodge for others to enjoy. There are 12 mats, 24 blocks, and 24 blankets.

The Lodge itself comfortably accommodated our group of 12. We were able to enjoy the interior and exterior spaces as a group and also found there was plenty of room for individuals to retreat when they needed solitude. The main room served us well as a place to do yoga. The massive outdoor deck also gave us a place to do yoga with amazing views. The lodge opens up so that it is hard to even tell if you are inside or outside.

The owners came out one day and gave us a talk about the land and the mission of the lodge. They facilitated a morning for our group to plant trees. It was a wonderful addition to our experience.

I wish we would have spent more time enjoying the Wellness Center, which is not on the grounds but guests have access to. If we return, we will make sure and set aside more time to spend there. It's about a 25-30 minute drive from the lodge to the wellness center, and well worth the effort to get there.

I highly recommend this lodge if you are looking for a remote, quiet, peaceful place to spend time in the rainforest. The only note I would make is that the road up to the lodge off the main road is only a few miles but takes 20-25 minutes to traverse. We had a lot of off-site excursions planned, and I didn't fully appreciate how much that road would add in terms of time and bumpiness. I would plan our excursions differently next time so that we spent more time at the Lodge and less time on that road going back and forth. The Lodge was so comfortable and relaxing that really we could have just been there most of the time and enjoyed...
