Where to start! This hotel is terrible. Terrible experience!!! When I arrived, there was no hot water (broken) they had to replace it the next day. Coffee maker, no coffee, or bottled water. One of the owners, Don Avrahan, stopped by my room the next morning as someone must have told him things were not good. He said, and I quote, "I will not charge you for your stay at my hotel" , I thanked him and told him I was grateful for the kind offer. "Seemed" like a really nice guy. He even offered his manager, Ivo to take me to their other property to their HEALING WATER pool the next day. Again, I was happy he was rectifying a bad situation. I saw Ivo the next morning at the restaurant, he asked what time I would like to go, I said 11am would be fine. I was ready at 11am, waiting outside on my patio, he and Don drove by at 3 as I was thinking something must have come up, they did not even acknowledge me!! I saw the two of them at the restaurant that evening and Don said, my car was in use all day, so Ivo could not take you. REALLY, how about come and talk to me to let me know the situation. UNBELIEVABLE.For two nights, I woke up with cockroaches in my room, I covered them with a towel and had the housekeeper dispose of them, ugh! Now onto another HUGE red flag to stay away from this place. Paola, the head manager of receptionist should absolutely not be in the position they have her in, incompetent is not a strong enough work for her actions. I sent many messages thru their website, all UNANSWERED, they did not have a reception WHASAP number, but instead gave me "a personal" whasap number. Never responded there either, except when I asked if Paola would be working the morning I was checking out on March 2nd. They said absolutely she will. When I went to check out she, of course, was not there to refund my money. I was told by Katia, the receptionist I would need to send my bank information so they could refund my money. What a joke! I have sent at least 6 messages with my bank information requesting my refund, to no one even responding. I also tried the "private" WHASAP number, again no responses. So no refund! They are all a big bunch of snakes, and liars, in my opinion. A few more notes, I went to dinner the first night, it seemed strange, but there was only 1 1/2 pages to the menu. When I went the next night, lo and behold there were 5 pages! Breakfast was buffet style, and awful, eveything was cold. There was about a cup full of scrambled eggs, I asked if they could bring more out, the waiter scooped them up and put them on my plate. The only positive thing for me was LUIS, who was the gentleman that drove people back and forth in the resort, he is a GEM!!! No idea why he keeps working for them. The other good experience was the housekeepers, lovely women, that did an excellent job, and were so nice and friendly....

We stayed at the resort one night as we were transiting from Dominical back to San Jose. I don’t think i would stay again. ||Cons: It was extremely hard to find and there were no signs for the hotel until right before you enter the resort making you think you are extremely lost. The restaurant service was slow and the food was so minimal. they don’t even give you a menu. The dining schedule made me feel like we were at a retirement center and most of the guest were of that age as well. They put our family out on a deck by ourselves even though my kids are teenagers which made me feel like we were not welcome there. I would not bring kids to this place again. The room was spacious and clean but the bathroom was pretty gross. The shower needed major repairs and leaked. If you are elderly I’m not sure how you get around as it is extremely hilly even walking up to the restaurant. There might be a service for that but we didn’t see any. ||||Pros: once you are there it is beautiful and quiet. We heard only the birds chirping. The landscaping and meandering stream is really serene and there is a short hike up to a waterfall. They obviously spend a lot of time on the grounds. We did not see any animals but the hike around the property is also nice. The hot spring pool is really the best feature of this place. It’s very warm and lovely to...

First I have to say the staff here is simply amazing. We got stranded on a dirt road 5km from the resort and they did what they could to help us out. They even went looking for us on the dark. I will never forget that. When we finally got the the Spa Reddit they called is down and were very relaxing, told us to just rest and enjoy ourselves and the manager went out with his own car to try to save our stranded car. The hotel itself must have been amazing some time ago, there is plenty of rooms and suites all beautiful if in need of a little update, but as I read in another review they are now under new management so it will only improve. We didn't have a chance to take advantage of the spa, but the restaurant was very good. Service was timely and or meals were really delicious (pork ribs and pasta). I wish we had another day there.

The staff are pleasant, and my experience is the staff creates the mood for a place. It felt safe, and secure. The room had what we needed, which included a fridge. The wooden ceiling, white walls, tiled floors all add to the ambiance. There is a mediterranean flair, with a touch of indigenous culture to the hotel. There was coffee, and tea available at the lobby, which makes it feel welcoming. Breakfast was perfect. It was quiet, with only the sound of nature. The river running through it is the highlight for me, as it creates a clean, serene feel. The buildings, and area were well kept. There are sweet, calm dogs around, yet we did not hear any barking. Wifi from our room worked well. Overall this place is a gem
