Sadly I had a bad service experience here

Everything was perfect at the beginning, rooms are great and very nice location with good views

Towards the end of my stay I was using the swimming pool with my family (4 people), at around 11am my family and I would step out of the swimming pool one by one taking turns to get a shower and be ready for check out (at 12md)

But to my surprise they had cut off the water supply, which I immediately went to the front desk to let them know, they had me walking around the hotel asking different people to reconnect the water supply for almost an hour.

Finally when the put back the water supply we went off with the original plan, anyways it was 12:05pm when my last family member stepped out of the pool.

Even though we rushed to get ready asap, I warned the receptionist that we wouldn't be ready by noon to check out.

At 12:30pm they knocked at the door, my last family member was dressing so we told them that we were almost ready, less than 5 minutes goes by and they knocked at the door again complaining and making upset faces, almost implying that we must had showered all together to get out of the room at noon.

Is really sad that we had this experience here because before that point I was super positive about...

So I called for a reservation the night before, heard loud music coming over the phone in the background and reiterated that I was looking for a QUIET room, 2 rooms. He assured me that they had quiet rooms, yelling a bit over the music coming as background noise.||||We arrived the next day to check the rooms and I explained to the lady that we had wanted the "deluxe" room. She looked incredulous, eyes bulging, making faces stating, "deluxe??? deluxe?? what is this deluxe, I don't know what it is?" Still making faces at me she mumbled something in french and walked away. I asked her how much the rooms were, she had to think a minute and quoted me twice something other than the internet price. I asked her about that and she flatly stated that she would not give me that rate, "go to internet," and walked away. I asked to see the room so she called someone who was very nice, Costa Rican of course. Saw the room, Cut our losses and get the heck out of there. Room very run down.||we left, never looked back. Man, what an attitude. Should not be in the customer service industry. I felt sorry for her workers. ||Be ware!...

We didn’t make the reservations for our stay so I’m not sure how this place was chosen. The booking was under one name for two rooms. ||First the positives: beautiful location, right on the water. Lots of birds for viewing. Very nice staff. Sadly, that’s the only nice thing I can say. The TV and air conditioning worked and there was a apt size fridge. ||Now the negatives: we were given Room 10. The room had two full size beds. The mattresses were thin, crunchy, and generally not good. The linens on the bed were old. So old it was hard to tell if they were clean or not. Not even remotely inviting. The bathroom did have a new toilet and sink, but the toilet DID NOT HAVE A TOILET SEAT. There were no glasses for drinking, no nightstand or lamp. Only light was a ceiling light. ||The other room was a two room newer building that had two king size beds, beautiful bathroom, new linens, etc. The price paid for both rooms was identical but there were no similarities to the rooms. ||This property needs...

Very clean place, great pool with the right temperature of the water. Beautiful view and good food. We made a reservation because we were on the way back home from Panama to Santa Teresa which is a long way. It was written that there is Wi-Fi all areas but in our room there wasn't any reception. My young daughters took a shower on cold water. I asked the owner to come and have a look and didn't want to, just explained to me that it works on electric and not on gas like the rest of the rooms....I took a shower in other room with his permission. 7am we woke up to sounds of hammering. I opened the door and there were workers outside infront of our door doing some construction work. 1 meter infront of our door!! We asked them politely to move but they didn't want to. After long talk they went away.... if it was just a restaurant I would have giving 5 stars, as a hotel o stars. Sorry!

We booked this place for new year. We spent all the time at the pool which was good. But the rooms were NOT the same, that was shown on booking.com. The twin rooms were in bad shapes and the bathrooms were too small, for which they charged $130. They had breakfast included, but the portion of the breakfast was not appropriate as you can see in the picture. They tries to mimic costa rican breakfast, but it was no where near to it. They served banana chips instead of cheese or plantain. When we tried to provide feedback the manager or the owner did not attended us very well. He had the attitude that we have been running the business for 33 years. Which was not good, also all the chefs in kitchen did not have mask on while cooking, which is important in current times. There is nothing else to do over there apart from swimming pool.

The owner is so friendly and eager to make sure your stay is wonderful and that you have all you need. The room was large with a nice bathroom, comfortable bed, and AC (so important depending on the time of year you visit). The single rooms have a great view of the garden area as well as a portion of the bay. Beautiful at both sunrise and sunset. The pool was super clean and even had an elevated area that parents can sit at while their kids play in the kiddy pool. Great typical breakfast that lasts you most of the day! Attached restaurant was good, but a little pricey for my tastes. Good amount of food, but it will set up back at least $13-$20 a meal (for food and a drink). Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the Samoa del Sur if you are ever in Golfito! Unbeatably priced and so beautiful!
