I'm deeply concerned how this development will impact the natural beauty and quality of the Hermosa coastline and the surf. Blocking/diverting natural rivers destroys the runoff that create the sandbars we need to have peaky waves. Playa Hermosa is a 'World Surf Reserve', so blocking public access to the beach and changing the wave, directly contradicts the concept of a protected surfing beach. Not only that, but the animals that lived in the wetland area have been impacted negatively because their home has been filled in and built over. Tico friends of mine who live in communities further south of the Mistico project have been affected too because their water has been shut off for days to be diverted to build the Mistico project. Do not buy here, especially the beach front lots. They have destroyed the ecosystem bringing thousands of tonnes of earth to fill in the wetlands. The houses will also make it impossible for migrating crabs to lay their eggs on the beach which come down from the near by mountain.
