Los Lagos Casas de Campo — Hotel in La Fortuna

We spent the most wonderful two weeks in this piece of heaven. The place is brand new and thousand times even more beautiful then in the photos. The attention to detail is evident everywhere. Leo and his family are amazing hosts and became close friends to us- providing tips, accomodating to every need - they even organized the most memorable birthday for my son with Piñata and party. We saw many animals including dogs, chickens, peacocks, bunnies, ducks, toucans, owls, squirrels, huge iguanas, turtles and fish! The children learned to fish and we absolutely loved the pool and BBQ area. We will miss this place, Leo and his wonderful family so much and hope to return soon. Overall, our stay in the Macaw House was excellent. Furnishing was all new, decor was modern, the house clean, staff friendly and responsive. The property itself is meticulously maintained and beautiful. Some rooms lack some useful items, such as a drainboard in the kitchen, bedside tables, and hooks in the bathroom. Also, they should print instructions for use of the shower, which controls heat through an electronic dial (one button). Service was excellent -- we had a problem with the conduction stovetop which the owner answered and then arrived promptly to help with. Location was a bit out of the way from La Fortuna, but there are plenty of Ubers in the area which...

wow! Leonardo's hobbit house and his entire property is excellent. and Leonardo is tirelessly helpful. he was quick (instant!) and super friendly when I couldn't get the door unlocked (100% user error).

the hobbit house is actually more secluded and private than it looks in the photos as the trees have grown since the pictures. The private hot tub pool was perfect and our kids enjoyed checking out the pond and visiting the peacock, and all of the lovely sculptures around the property. the large communal pool was an added bonus.
