My daughter and I booked a room at Karao for the afternoon before our flight out of Liberia. We weren’t expecting a luxury resort, just a clean, convenient place to rest. What we found was something better: real hospitality. The woman who runs the café and manages the hotel was exceptional. She offered to help us find transportation to the airport, and later came back with a suggestion to walk to a quaint little village just across the river, only about a kilometre away. She even pointed out other local spots without us asking. You could tell she truly cared about our experience, not just our stay. Yes, you’ll hear some road noise. And yes, there’s the occasional missing bit of plaster or small imperfection. If those kinds of details bother you, this may not be your place. But if you're looking for a simple, friendly, clean guesthouse just 6 km from the airport, this one delivers exactly what it promises—with heart.

I stayed here for a night before my flight from Liberia airport CR. The stay was perfect for just one night, nothing fancy but good and much better than a hostel. The staff is super friendly and helpful, she also gave me a tip to the nearest beaches and explained the public transport. They are easily accessible and also provide a airport taxi for 20$. Ubers arent reliable in the area, so would recommend you take their taxi. The room was large and had everything available. There is a restaurant downstairs with good coffee and good meals. You can place your order till max 4:30pm, but the staff is definitely flexible. Overall 100% worth the price and would recommend!

Please ensure that you check in before the coffee shop closes for the day. We arrived at approximately 6:30 p.m. to find that the coffee shop had already closed for the day, leaving us without access to our room. Despite our attempts to contact the establishment via the phone number provided on Google, our calls went unanswered. As a result, we were compelled to seek assistance from the neighboring residents. They kindly facilitated communication with the cleaning personnel, who graciously drove to the hotel and granted us entry. It is important to note that the room's pricing appears to be excessive in relation to the amenities provided.

I'll avoid this place in the future.||I made a reservation on Saturday mid-day for a same night stay. I called the number that I found on-line before I drove to the hotel and it went straight to voicemail so I left a message. I drove there, arriving around 6:30, and the building was completely locked up. There is no signage with guest information nor a phone number. The glass doors were locked and gated from within. Nothing about the place looked like it was open for business. |I thought they went out of business and I'd been scammed. I ended up leaving to find a place to stay for the night. Turns out they do have some kind of 'after hours' check-in process though I got that information when it was too late. ||How hard is it to tape a piece of paper with a phone number to a glass window for arriving guests? It was disappointing. They won't respond to my message. I live in Costa Rica and I prefer to support local businesses but perhaps not this one. |The lack of information for arriving guests seems...
