I wanted to take a moment to rate this amazing place and their amazing owners. Francisco and its family are the nicest people I met through my entire trip to Costa Rica. They welcomed me so well, I immediately felt like at home. The rooms are very clean and nice. There are multiple shared kitchen if you want to cook there (because they don't provide meals except for breakfast which was one of the best I ate in Costa Rica). They built this little heaven on their own and I spent the evening talking with Francisco and some other people that where staying there. It was an amazing experience. It's peaceful, it's quiet, it's beautiful. The national park was closed the day I got there but he gave me a few other options that were great! If you want to come and stay there, it's really recommended to have a 4WD or a SUV because the road is a bit rough.
¡Muchas gracias Francisco! Fue realmente genial...
Read moreThe location is incredible, it was a true jungle experience. Perfect spot for visiting the national park to hike, visit hot springs and do other activities. This is a simpler place to stay don't expect a fancy hotel, there is no A/C but plenty of ventilation through windows and a fan. There is hot water in the shower and the wifi is reliable. They were so accommodating and welcoming, we felt like family from the moment we arrived and felt very safe. Having a traditional Costa Rican breakfast every morning was such a great bonus and shouldn't be passed up, great way to start the day. Such a charming place to stay, with beautiful outdoor decoration and landscaping. A lot of great places to eat in the town 20 minutes away (Ruta Burger and Vocano Restaraunt have some of the best food I've ever had) or at the lodge down the street. This was a great way to immerse yourself in the beautiful culture...
Read moreThis is an INCREDIBLY remote stay. Francisco is a very sweet man, and he gives great suggestions about what to do in the surrounding areas. The other man who appears to own the place was very stand-offish, but I wouldn’t say unfriendly.
Staying here was a little uncomfortable because it felt like you were intruding in on Francisco’s family, who stay in the house on the property. There is no where to hang out that you aren’t also hanging out with the family. We wanted to go lay in the only hammock they have on the property, but someone from the family had put their bed out there and was sleeping. And at night, the only other outdoor hangout area is taken over by the family cooking their meals.
So if you are looking for a more “home stay” like experience, this is your place. But I felt very uncomfortable with sharing the spaces with the family for the...
