On the official website of EL Sol Hotel, you will find a phrase under its logo: “where heaven touches the earth.” In my opinion, this is literally the truth. I’m so glad I booked the room called Magic Sun, which is perfect for 2-3 people. Lying in the hammock on its balcony or soaking in the jacuzzi while quietly watching the sunset is one of the most wonderful things in the world.
EL SOL offers stunning views and excellent privacy. You can find everything you need in the room: a comfortable and clean bed, hot water with sufficient pressure and temperature, a fully functional refrigerator and coffee maker, as well as kitchenware and tableware. The interior decor is aesthetically pleasing, and the functional design is thoughtfully detailed—for example, there are enough outlets by the bedside, and the hangers come in both adult and child sizes.
I also really love the hotel’s garden and swimming pool. Whether in your own room, the garden, or by the pool, you can enjoy breathtaking view of the sunset. So when planning your trip to Monteverde, make sure not to schedule it too tightly—leave some extra time to truly enjoy this place.
The hotel’s service is also very satisfying. The owner, Javier, will contact you in advance via email to ensure you can find the hotel easily and check in smoothly. You can also reach out to him via whatsapp anytime if you need anything. We tried the breakfast provided by the hotel—it was very healthy and delicious, and it could be delivered to the room at your preferred time.
EL SOL is definitely the highlight of my family trip and we would like to come back again....
Read moreEl Sol just became one of our favorite hotels we've ever stayed at, although it's more like hotel meets home meets bed and breakfast in paradise. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay in the Monteverde area and I'm not sure we could've found a more perfect spot to relax and unplug.
Javier is a phenomenal owner who made sure all of our needs were taken care of every step of the way. He and Siân helped us plan our activities around Monteverde and were available at a moment's notice via WhatsApp, even making last minute changes to our itinerary as our requests changed. We did not rent a car but Javier and Siân arranged for rides and Javier even drove us into town one afternoon.
While the hotel is about a ten minute drive into town, the peaceful setting was a well needed escape to tranquility. The cabins are charming and are surrounded by jungle-like gardens that make you feel like you're in a treehouse. The staff brought us breakfast to our cabin both mornings and we also ordered dinner one night to the cabin., which has every amenity you need, making it feel like home. We ate on the porch, had a morning visit from a Magpie-Jay, chilled on a hammock and also scheduled a massage after a day of hiking. The infinity pool and sun deck were peaceful and the views stunning. This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and we have many other places we want to visit, but El Sol will be on our itinerary again next time because of the memorable...
Read moreI visited El Sol with my mom, husband, and 1 year old son for 4 nights. We were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful with good onsite amenities and spacious so the whole family would be comfortable and have privacy. We couldn’t have found a better home away from home. Our casita at El Sol was bright, cozy, private, beautifully designed and decorated, and well stocked. The property itself is phenomenal with the most beautiful views overlooking the valley and an incredible freshwater pool that we visited daily and with a road to hike into the jungle right onsite. You’ll see and hear all sorts of animals right from your yard. The staff is second to none - so friendly, helpful, accommodating, and communicative. They were always readily available to help book an excursion and go above and beyond for whatever we needed, including providing first aid supplies and driving us during a rain storm so we didn’t get wet. The food is incredible, I still dream of their homemade pancakes and fresh fruit juices. The location is nice because you’re secluded in a peaceful area but less than 10 minutes from town. We feel so lucky to have spent the better part of a week in...
