This place is amazing!! . When we arrived, earlier than check-in, we were encouraged to sit in the restaurant whilst they checked it was ready. It's a place you can go to for nice food, or just drinks - either way, it's well worth it. There's an inside seating area, but there is also a balcony that looks over their well maintained gardens. They have bird feeders in the garden that you see an array of birds (most excited by the motmot) and other animals (squirrel, coati, tayra!), and feeders above the balcony for the stunning hummingbird. It also has a great mountainous view, being so high up. You could sit for hours!!

We walked the pretty steep slope down to our accommodation, which was one of 6 small chalet type, spacious apartments. The shower had hot water, and there were blankets on the bed (which were needed as it gets chilly in the night). They were super clean and pretty too, also with a lovely view. Parking was available.

They have trails you can walk - into woodland and forest. There are zip lines that you can pay to go along to. The paths are well maintained and it's not necessary to wear trainers.

I would recommend having dinner on the restaurant - I'm not sure there is anything else around - and they had a good selection of food and drink.

Staff couldn't be more helpful, they were amazing!! They organised bus tickets and even called the company to make sure they stopped for us. They weren't above and beyond (especially when the first bus didn't stop) to sort everything out. I couldn't thank them enough truly super!

We wanted to break up the long journey from Golfito (South-West) to San Jose. We got a bus to San Isidro and was advised (by the bus ticketer) to get a taxi the rest of the 20...

Fue la segunda vez que fui con mi familia al restaurante y fue la peor experiencia. Me senti robado. Here’s the translation of your review to English:

It was the second time I went to the restaurant with my family, and it was the worst experience. I felt robbed.

I ordered trout in lemon white sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and the worst part was the mashed potatoes—they were artificial! Can you believe they serve artificial potatoes in a place where potatoes are cheap to buy, and there are farmers selling high-quality potatoes in the area?? It’s unbelievable! When we asked the waitress, she said they were from the packages bought at the supermarket! And to top it off, it was a dish that cost more than 15 dollars.

Also, the waitress never asked how the food was, and when we told her about the bad experience, she said she still had to charge us. In other words, ZERO customer service. Needless to say, I will never go back to this place, and since I have over 20 years of experience working in tourism, serving people who seek excellent experiences, I will spread the word to everyone I can.

It’s a shame because of the excellent location and beautiful setting, but as we all know, the place and the product aren’t everything. What truly matters is the service and kindness you receive from the place where you’re...

Place is very nice, however steep and you probably need a 4x4 just to get to the parking area inside. We arrive 30 mins before closing the restaurant and they did not want to make us any complex food (6:30pm and we selected this hotel because it had a restauran), asked for some corn tortillas which they did. Unfortunately you can hear the trucks in the distance coming downhill. Restaurant is good but prices are higher when compared with local ones (targeting tourists). Overall good....

Hummingbirds in the backyard, fabulous view of the valley and mountains. Cozy, clean and comfortable rooms, with hot water shower, (steaming hot). Great restaurant, terrific food and coffee. And for an extra fee it's possible to get your clothes washed and dried.

We did the ATV tour, it was fantastic! Diego and his guides are amazing, accommodating and very knowledgeable. A must do if you are in the area, the views were stunning and we got to experience different terrain. Such a blast!!!!
