Bar Y Cabinas Anita — Hotel in Pacuarito

We booked our stay probably around 9 or 10 pm after being unable to find a proper camping site. When we arrived, the owner was still changing the sheets to get ready for us! The family was so nice and they told us there would be coffee and breakfast waiting for us in the morning. The room was clean and had wifi and a tv and a shower which was perfect. In the morning they had prepared breakfast and coffee, and we got to see all of their animals - chicken, a talking parrot, a bunny, a street dog named Canelo. They were so hospitable and friendly and gave us recommendations for our time in Costa Rica. Apparently, Playa Manuel Antonio is the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica but I'd have to disagree - I still loved Playa Uvita more!! We are so grateful to them for taking us in so late at night and being so hospitable in the morning....

I stayed here one night while driving from La Fortuna to Puerto Viejo. It's right off the highway up a wicked little hill so keep your eyes peeled for the turn off. The room was nice and clean though a bit rustic. There is some road noise but not too bad. The window in my room had a small pane of glass missing from it but I was able to stuff a sheet in the hole to keep out bugs. Also the door had a slight gap at the bottom so be aware you might want to look for things like that to keep bugs out.

The owners were very nice and the woman there cooks breakfast for you in the morning. The dining/hangout area has a hostal vibe and there's Bob Marley poster and a big wall full of signatures. All and all, not a bad rest stop...

It is the best hostel I have been to, the customer service is spectacular, the order and cleanliness do not leave behind, everything literally smells clean, they have trails, wifi, cable TV, air conditioning ... you can book including breakfast. Anita and her husband are the best, very charismatic, attentive, helpful, honorable, honest people, highly recommended. You can see limpets, frogs, butterflies, snakes, sloths, many birds of all kinds really.
