The place really lives up to its name…|As someone who hasn’t traveled all too much, bosque de Paz was something out of a movie.||The closest imagery to what I would describe as stereotypical heaven. |Amazingly beautiful garden with a river flowing right through the middle. Stunning trails that lead you right through the Forrest, with amazing waterfalls to discover. ||If you want to see a hummingbird up close…come see one of the hundreds upon hundreds of hummingbirds (many different species) gather around the feeders and fly around the gardens. My family were lucky enough to have a hummingbird, each, perch on our fingers at the feeder. ||The staff, Mario and Co, were all absolutely lovely, extremely accommodating and have a brilliant sense of humour! Their knowledge on the wildlife comes with immense depth, any questions will be answered without hesitation. ||We saw an abundance of wildlife in our two nights here. And the views of the clouds coming down through the mountains were something out of a movie. (It really is in the sticks, so if your after any sort of civilisation/night life ect…probably not for you)||The food was excellent, (plenty for us pesky vegetarians), and service was perfect.|Only 12 rooms so expect a peaceful stay!|The rooms were certainly somewhat ‘rustic’ which is fine with us. Everything you need in a room. A comfy bed, nice shower room ect. Can’t complain!||Couldn’t recommend enough!|Thank you for...

What a gem of a place. Sadly, our plans only put us here for one night. This had to be one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and water plenty hot for a good shower. The grounds include an orchid garden that is almost beyond description. It felt like we had entered a different world. Then there are several trails that take you through the forest and along a river that are just enchanting. Mario was our contact and he made sure our stay was perfect. He greeted us as we drove up, had our luggage taken to our room and took our food order for dinner. Dinner was optional (as in not included) and was beyond delicious. Well worth the price. Breakfast is included and was just as amazing. There are several hummingbird feeders on the property that were always active. A couple of other bird feeding stations were set up for other species of birds and they were active as well. The location, the food, Mario and his staff, fresh mountain air, clean cold drinking water, I can't say enough. I just hope we can find our way back soon for a...

We loved our stay at Bosque de Paz - near Bajos del Toro and on a beautiful property with hiking/walking trails. Getting there does require some driving on windy mountain roads, including a gravel road directly into/and out of the lodge, but we managed with a regular small SUV (not a 4x4) without problems. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and the property felt secluded and private in a good way. The room was basic but comfortable. Meals are in a dining room with view of hummingbirds in the morning, as well as other wildlife like squirrels, other birds, an agouti, and pacas at night! It is a short drive to get to the local waterfall attractions around Bajos del Toro - one of our favorite experiences during our trip though was doing a waterfall hike on the property - with a private, stunning waterfall at the end, with no one else around! Would absolutely recommend for travelers, especially couples, looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway...

This is a very special, 1,000-acre property in a beautiful part of CR that still hasn’t been fully discovered. I stayed at Bosque de Paz with my 14-yr-old son and my 16-yr-old nephew. Most of the guests were birders and they seemed very pleased. We were there for the walks and this is an area where the treks are epic. We’ve already experienced several adventures to spectacular waterfalls and around the Poas Volcano. And actually, the Bosque de Paz Reserve has several trails that can keep you trekking all day. They are well carved out, very smooth (apt for non-technical hikers), and they lead to a few different waterfalls and cascades that are very beautiful. And if you’re into cool water, definitely plan on an invigorating swim. Rooms are basic but comfortable, and sleep quality is great… guests here really respect peace and quiet. The food is also basic, but tasty and authentic.

Unique place as it is situated high above sea level. Large wooden rooms. The place in in the middle of rain forest with a beautiful stream running in front of the main building. Large dining room and separated convention place for groups of up to circa 15 people. Privately owned - and dedicated to forest and wildlife preservation. Among the best places in the world to see variety of Hummingbirds - to include the purple, largest Humming bird in the Americas. Black Guans, Aguti, Large number of songs birds. Very pleasant place to stay and very nice people and hospitality. Roads in the area are narrow and steep, sometimes wet and under cloud and fog cover. Vegetation is unique and beautiful. Highly recommended.

Bosque de Paz is a very special place. It's close to San Jose but completely private and in nature. The trails are amazing, full of wildlife and birds and the staff is absolutely the best. Food is really good, the rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable and it's just incredibly peaceful. I brought 13 people here this year and everybody has fond memories of Bosque de Paz. I will certainly return to this magical place.
