I would definitely recommend this lodge for travelers with a car.||Even though we enjoyed our stay, the first night was not so good. The entire lodge was out of electricity due to the rain, thunder and lightning, which started at 17:00 and lasted a long time. By 7:00 in the morning the power was back on again. (so no airco that night) Apparently this happens rarely. The owners handled it very well during the blackout and we received a discount for that night. ||The other night's did live up to our expectations. The beds are really comfortable and we had a good sleep. The place looks really nice. Large beds, large room, large shower, separate toilet, a lot of closset space and a beautiful deck from which you can watch the jungle sunset.||We also enjoyed the breakfast. However it was more limited in variation than we experienced during our stay at other B&B's on our trip. Even though limited in variation it was definitely sufficient with fresh fruit, tea, toast, jam and omlets (or possibly other style eggs which we didn't try).||The location is a little remote (the river crossing should make it less remote I think, but then again we visited during rainy season so we took the normal route). Because of the location it is very nice and quiet and you get a good nature vibe. The view from the lodge is very nice.||The owners gave us some good tips on what to see and where to go. This was very helpful.||All in all we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed...
Read moreThis is a lovely spot hidden in the hills near (but not in) Tambor. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 'Gecko' cabin which was simple and lovely. It is a small, free standing hut with mesh walls that is private because of strategically placed vegetation- it is also equipped with curtains. The bedding was simple- nothing to write home about, but we loved the view of the stars from inside the room. It had all the benefits of sleeping outside without the discomfort. We had our own private bathroom, which was beautiful but not attached to the cabin. ||My one piece of advice is that if you don't have a car, plan to bring your own food or plan to take a lot of (expensive) taxis. They serve a nice breakfast, but no other food is served throughout the day. The closest restaurant is not great and it is about a 40 min walk away. The owner was kind and gave us a ride to the restaurant after we got lost trying to find it and had to turn back. The lodge itself is quite far away from the town, but is a wonderful place to sit back and relax in nature. ||It was great value for money; especially compared to the other lodging we have stayed at on...
Read moreArrived at the lodge to be greeted by the sound of howler monkeys. We were looking for a secluded resort that was not full of tourists. It was perfect. Surrounded by jungle. Rooms were very nice and clean. Two swimming pools. Thomas was an angel. He took care of our every need. We did not rent a car - he found us a driver to take us where we wanted to go and the price was very reasonable. The driver asked if we wanted to stop at a local fishing village of course we did. We were able to see the fishermen bringing in their catch. We were the only foreigners there. Thomas even took us to the local store and dropped us off for dinner and arranged for us to be picked up. If you want a place to get away from it all this is the...
