One of the best accommodations of our trip. Cons: No air conditioning, rather simple setup. Still: a unique experience and I want to come back despite the mosquitos and bad road.||||From my travel diary: The journey leads via Sahino and Boca Tapada to our lodge. The large pineapple fields are currently being harvested. Manjock is also grown. Shortly after Sahino the paved road ends and the rest of it has plenty of potholes. We are pretty exhausted when we finally arrive. We wer led to Cabin- No. 10 with a total of three beds, a large bathroom and a somewhat small balcony with a view of the parking lot and trees. Great advantage of the location: there are only a few steps to the restaurant and a covered lounge area. Bananas hang everywhere and the birds make plenty of use. The lodge belongs to Marco, who speaks little English. Alfonso, a busy young man, helps us with everything we need. Dinner in the hut, a Pina Colada in a restaurant, then to bed. I sleep very. At night the rain drums on the roof and when it is not raining it drips from the trees. In addition, mosquitos celebrate party on my body. The stitches are itchy and feel like little pimples. ||||The next morning a good breakfast with fresh fruits and eggs, toast and Jugendamt is serverd. At 8:30 a.m. we drive a few kilometers in our own car. There a large piece of jungle belongs to the lodge. We are led by Hugo, who, apart from a few words, does not speak English, but explains everything so impressively that we still understand him. For the hike we were equipped with rubber boots and a stick, which is urgently needed. My poor husband had to squeeze his feet into size 44. It went over hill and dale and was overall quite exhausting. In total we were on the road for over 3½ hours. After lunch I am lying in the hammock, trying to read and still not missing a particular bird. At 2 p.m. we drive the broad San Carlos River by motorboat Unterhaltspflichtige to the Nicaragua border. Some of the guests follow us along the 11 km by canoe. The river has a distinctiv current so they arrived not long after us. On the way it starts pouring for a short time. I crawl under my yellow Mickey Mouse poncho from Orlando. An Indian lives at the final stop where we had a rest. I get a coco loco, i.e. a fresh coconut, the juice of which is mixed with rum. Delicious. And the little dog is begging wildly for the flesh. The canoeists go back with us. Overall a nice and varied boat trip, but few animals to see. This family owned eco lodge has spacious bungalows -- some overlooking the San Carlos River, but others not and also not so convenient to the dining hall. No air-conditioning, but each bungalow had at least 2-3 ceiling fans. Bathrooms were small but showers worked well. However, there was no shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or hair dryer. ||Marco (the 3rd) and his son Marco (the 4th) manage the place quite well. The food is quite good. Loved the Azteca Soup and also the Tilapia with garlic, wine and veggies. ||Breakfast was plated and served: everyone got a plate of fresh fruit, toast & jam, and a plate of scrambled eggs. Tasty but probably wouldn't fill up a big eater. ||The 4-hour river boat tour was fun. Got to see crocodiles, iguanas, a variety of birds, and King Vultures!! ||There aren't any trails to hike here. We walked the 2 km to the reserve but still didn't have any trails to wander. And didn't see any birds of wildlife along the gravel road. Guess we needed to do a guided tour to see anything. However, we saw plenty of birds at the lodge area (the put plantains out to attract them). Also saw howler monkeys from our bungalow.||Overall, a lovely place to spend a couple of nights. Fin janjier 2025 Mais comment ce lieu peut il obtenir une moyenne pareil !!! Hallucinant de ne pas savoir ouvrir les yeux. Alors je vais être très factuel. Visité en couple. Visiblement les allemands apprécient LOL! Seul point positif : la balade sur la rivière qui est géniale et les oiseaux superbes attirés par la nourriture qu'on leur donne.

Hébergement

Éloigné de tout.

Cosy mais sans charme mais juste atypique. Très Sombre. Accès lumière compliqué.  Lumière terrasse ne fonctionne pas.

Chalet en bois, étouffant garde la chaleur et pas de climatisation sauf ventilateur.

Rideaux non occultants

Douche dangereuse avec fils elec apparents, d’autant plus qu’il faut tourner un bouton pour avoir de l’eau chaude à 5cms des fils cf photo

Lit de longueur 190cms donc pas adaptée à une personne grande : les pieds hors du lit.

Pas de wifi dans aucun hébergement

Lavabo très bas . Compliqué vraiment.

Pas de bonde au lavabo,  pas simple pour se raser sans consommer bcp d’eau

Oreillers vraiment très bas de gamme

2 serviettes de bains. Pas de petite serviette comme cela se fait souvent pour s’essuyer les mains.

Pas de possibilité de se faire un café.

Pas de petite bouteille d'eau.

Le prix des chambres varient suivant le nombre de personne de 2 à 4 couchages (de 91$ à 135$) fuyez!

Restauration Café à 4 euros hors taxe!!!!!!?!!!!! Serions nous des américains?

Petit déjeuner ; juste mauvais je pèse mes mots : café bon.  3 petites portions de Fruit, ; Croûtons de pain dur sur lequel on a mis une espèce de margarine infâme. Une pseudo confiture de qq milligrammes sans goût,  2 œufs en omelette avec micro rondelles de tomate et concombre sans intérêt,  pas de jus de fruit. Bref le néant !

Restaurant dîner  : un café ou thé à 4$ !??!! Cf photo.  Globalement très très cher pour piètre qualité. Le burger : pas top rien à voir avec la photo indiquée sur le menu. Donc pub mensongère encore une fois.

Il nous a été demandé le matin quel plat nous voulions manger le soir!!!??!!!! Je les ai gentiment envoyé promener. On est en vacances non?

Il faut réserve pas avant 16h le dîner en tout cas il nous le demande.

Services Wifi uniquement dans salle à manger /réception  et zone extérieure repos abritée

Un routeur m’à été prêté pour les 2 jours. Ce matériel fonctionnait bien.

Pas de wifi dans les hébergements (pas averti)

Canoe (cf photo). Pub mensongère car il n’est pas possible d’en faire à cause du courant de la rivière et de la présence de crocodile qu’effectivement nous avons vu lors de la sortie en bateau.

Comportement général du personnel à l’accueil : mal aimable,  limite arrogant et hautain. Zéro sourire. Seul le monsieur d’un certain âge en cuisine avenant.

Sortie bateau : belle surprise,  un guide adorable, souriant intéressant

Divers: Chien aboyant 3 fois par nuit coupant le sommeil. Quel manque de respect pour les clients. Avons été réveillé à 2h30, 4h du matin et 23h

Après 50 piqûres de moustiques en terrasse de ma compagne (pas d’information sur ce risque), la pharmacie étant à 1h de route, un employé à fort heureusement proposé de nous ramener une crème apaisante.  Bonne réaction somme toute assez normale dans ce lieu reculé de tout.

Conclusion En comparaison d'autres 3* , hors mis le lieu atypique reculé, oubliez! Un niveau de service totalement faible, petit déjeuner en dessous de tout et prix excessivement cher pour manger surtout que peu de choses autour puisque isolé.
