Hospedaje la Galerie — Hotel in Puerto Cortés

Cortez is probably not high on your places to see in Costa Rica. But if you’re passing through and need a place, I highly recommend Hospedaje la Galarie.

It’s cute and relaxing and very Costa Rican.

There’s a small gallery of impressive paintings at the check in area, the staff came out to greet us when we arrived and we were offered pina frescos to refresh at the end of a long day of driving.

Like many Costa Rican places, the road there is an adventure. But you’ll appreciate the surroundings and the people.

We arrived late and tired at the hostal and it was a very good surprise! The owner proposed to drive us to the shop because we wanted some food and he showed us the famous pre Colombian stones with very interesting explanations|The room was huge, fully equiped (AC, TV, kitchen...) Possibility to make a real coffee .A very good breakfast on the terrasse near the swimming pool| We couldn't stay more than 1 night, but it would have been nice to discover...

Dont stay here the place is a dump. Room was dirty, coffee maker had mold in it from a previous use days ago, bed had no pill ow cases or top sheet the only sheet it did have was a stained bottom sheet. The place definitively has seen better days. No one around to complain to and correct things. I would give it less than one star but trip advisor...
