Hotel Maguey — Hotel in Puerto Viejo

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The entire hotel was filthy. The pool was too disgusting to even consider swimming in. The shower was a freezing cold hose pipe. The power went out in the early hours and didn't kick back in till we were checking out. Outside the room was noisy throughout the night. Thebreakfast was small and unpalatable and not included in the price of the room. I haven't had a single bad cup of coffee in three weeks of travelling around Costa Rica but this place managed it. I've stayed in some real dives in some third world countries but this hotel really took the biscuit.
