Business is business, right?

It’s interesting to sleep outside.. it’s selfmade and it’s very good.. but maybe the price is a little to big for this kind of service if you ask me. +the location is remote.

For 7€ more, we got a room the next day with AC, without any frogs jumping around and a pool!!! +you need to be carfull abot the electricity, since it’s solar powered and you can charge only during the day..

Don’t get me wrong.. the place is ok. Maybe just like 5-6€ (7-8$) to expensive.

Service is quite ok. Dinner was ok as well, but for the food also maybe 1-2$ to expensive.

We brought Colones with us, since we thought it’s gonna be cheaper to pay in a local currency.. we don’t have $ with us, because we are from EU. ALWAYS bring $ with you and pay with $. It’s cheaper than in colones!!!

The location is remote.. but when you get there.. it’s very good. The beach is mostly empty.. there are some good waves for surfing. It’s quiet.

I would say that the way to the place+very remote location and peace+very nice beach.. cancel each other out..

So, it’s a place to visit.. maybe only a few $ to expensice for what you get.

Still, we are happy...

Very spartanous accommodation in front of the beach. It's beautiful there. I would recommend to bring your own food with you and use the shared outdoor kitchen for preparing your meals. The host offers dinner for 7 dollars. It's very delicious, but as vegan you pay the same price, even you don't have meat. Makes no sense. The portions are not that big, as well. We booked the room including breakfast. When we arrived we told them that we are vegan and it would be sufficient to get some fruits for breakfast. For the second day, they forgot to buy fruits, so we had to prepare our own breakfast. Luckily we always have oats with us. The check-out was very disappointing. Miguel didn't have enough change, so he expected from us to pay 3 dollars more. Otherwise he would had have to give us a 2 dollar discount. We argumented that we didn't get breakfast, so the 2 dollars could be the compensation. At the end he left offended and didn't even say goodbye to us, although we had a lot of fun with him these days. In our opinion it's not a professional way to make business with customers, so we can't give more...

You want to camp at Miguel's. He's such a great soul with amazing energy and encompasses Pura Vida. Access can be a challenge (especially after a lot of rain), but it's no problem at all if you have a 4WD vehicle. Gorgeous beachfront spot with all kinds of cool structures built by Miguel, including an awesome 2-story "cabin" with 4 rooms and a restroom with a great shower. There's also a second open-air restroom and shower closer to the beach (although it's all REALLY close). There's power and wifi, sweet dogs, a kitchen and living room hangout area - perfect place to hang with a bunch of friends or strangers and make incredible memories! Miguel rents surfboards and knows the break like the back of his hand. It was pretty closed out the day we were there but my husband still caught a few and was happy. My whole family swam but be warned that the current is STRONG and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who's not a strong swimmer and used to ocean currents and waves. But either way it's a killer place to chill on the beach, drink from coconuts and make friends! Miguel has a slice of paradise waiting for you!
