We called on Jason to help us discover the wildlife of Parismina, a wonderful alternative to Tortuguero, far from the usual tourist routes. Involved with the Parismina turtle conservation association, he took us to witness turtles nesting on the beach at night. He also gave us a tour of the Parismina canals, sharing his extensive knowledge of the local fauna and flora.||The visit ended with a stop at his property, which is filled with many plants and fruit trees, and is fully self-sufficient in terms of energy and water. His hotel is also located there—we didn’t stay there as we were lodging elsewhere, but the place is right on the beach, south of Parismina.||Jason is a wonderful person, respectful and passionate about the environment he lives in and has committed himself to protecting. We can only highly recommend Jason—his service offers unbeatable value for money.||Practical info: Parismina is not accessible by car, but there’s an easy solution: leave your car at the Cano Blanco port, where you’ll find a large secured parking area. From there, public or private boats can take you to Parismina. Make sure to bring cash, as there are no card payments or ATMs available.||A big thank you again to Jason for having amazed our family and given us such a...
Read moreJason the owner has broad knowdlege of plant and animal life and shares his knowledge. We did a boat tour with him and we went out at night to see a leatherback turtle lay it's eggs. Howler, spider and capuchin monkeys are visiting the premise and lots of tarantulas are guarding the trees at night. Two kaimans where living next to the boat and freshwater turtles in the ponds. The beach right outside the premise was beautiful and we where the only people. We did not dare to go for a swim because of the currents and waves but we where splashing in the shallow water with our kid (~20m knee deep).|The lodge is basic but tidy. Food was very good. There is a big inside area to chill. No windows at all, only mosquito screens. Mobile connection only with kolbi (limited), no wifi. We were staying 2 nights with our 5y old kid and we enjoyed it very much. If you can live without AC and internet I can really recommend this place instead of staying with hundreds of people in tortuguero. No cars and...
Read moreJust spent an amazing week on the Caribbean coast at the Green Gold Eco-Lodge near Parasmina Costa Rica. This was my second year in a row staying at the Lodge run by Jason and Juliana Taylor. If you are looking for an authentic jungle experience with the sound of the ocean surf then this is your gig. Jason has surrounded the lodge with a wonderful garden of native plants that attract the local wildlife and provides fresh organic fruits to accompany meals. This area is known for the leatherback turtles that come to lay their eggs on the expansive and relatively uninhabited coastline and the local group dedicated to protecting the eggs. So if your'e passionate about nature and have a desire to learn about wildlife and the flora and fauna Jason has a wealth of knowledge and is eager to share all that he knows. Please call him at...
