El nido rojo — Hotel in Sámara

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The property has a few bungalows and feels very private and secured, located up the hill. The panoramic views from our bungalow were breath- taking, the pool was clean and well maintained. The place is quiet and away from the beaten path but at the same time it is close to Samara, Guiones and other bigger beaches. The drive to this place is through a small river or one can take a longer road to avoid the river but it will take ~15 min longer.|| In dry season there is no issue to cross the river having a standard car ( not 4 WD). The road is not in a good condition but manageable with a standard car. The local restaurant Cayote is just down the road, a few minutes walk, the food was very delicious, highly recommend, also a small supermarket is a few minutes walk down the hill.||The home-made breakfasts by Michaela were simply amazing, the hospitality of the owners was...

That may seem clichéd and overblown but not as far as we were concerned. The overall setting on a quiet and sunny hilltop with views is so relaxing and the owners so lovely that we genuinely struggled to leave! Having stumbled upon El Nido Rojo (the red nest) on-line at the last minute and arriving without any travel plans beyond generally moving around and exploring the Guanacaste coast for two weeks, we extended our stay twice to spend a total of 5 days here. The facility is brand new (in early March 2018). It is therefore clean and of a very high standard in terms of space and modern architectural design. Die Lage mitten in der Natur in einer weitläufigen und sehr gepflegten Anlage ist einfach toll. Natur und Landschaft vom feinsten. Relaxen am Pool, toll. Außergewöhnlich ist auch das Frühstück. Eine rühmliche Ausnahme zum üblichen Buffet am Morgen ist das an den Tisch gebrachte Frühstück mit hervorragenden und frischesten Zutaten. Ein Rührei nach Wunsch, das den Namen noch verdient. Baguette, selbstgemachte Marmeladen, frisch gepresster Orangensaft, Obst usw... Auch der Bungalow war vom feinsten ausgestattet. Ein sehr geräumiger Bungalow mit Küche, WLAN, feinen Betten, einer großen verglasten Front mit Balkon und Blick auf den Pazifik. Die Anlage ist sehr individuell, nur 2 Bungalows werden vermietet. In dem dritten wohnen die Eigentümer. Und die beiden Eigentümer mit österreichischen Wurzeln, Michaela und Andreas, machen den Aufenthalt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Es ist nicht nur Freundlichkeit der zwei, sondern gelebte Herzlichkeit . Wir haben uns mehr als wohlgefühlt und waren gerade in der Krisenzeit -Corona- bestens aufgehoben. Michaela hat uns vom feinsten bekocht und uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Andreas bot uns noch an, dass er uns -egal wo wir bei der Rückreise ggf. Probleme haben- zu Hilfe kommen würde. Das ist Hilfsbereitschaft und Gastfreundschaft pur. Leider mussten wir unsere Costa Rica Rundreise abbrechen. Wir wünschen den beiden Gastgebern das allerbeste. Wenn wir wieder nach Costa Rica reisen, dann steht das El nido rojo an Nummer 1 der Orte, die wir wieder besuchen wollen. Vielen lieben Dank nochmal an Michaela und Andreas...
