We were totally frustrated from the beginning. Driving up to the place was a scary, basically one lane road. Then when we arrived at 1:00, we were told we couldn't check in til 2:00, so we could go to the restaurant & wait. The restaurant was nice, but totally over priced & the food was just ok (we later found better, cheaper food in town). Once we were able to actually check in, we discovered that the travel agency booked us into a double room, which was explained to us, means 2 people in the room, not 2 beds. When we told them we needed 2 beds, as we were 2 single ladies traveling together, they offered us a fold out bed. When we got to the room, we discovered the fold out bed was a broken futon. When we tried to get another futon, we were told the one we had was fine. We then asked if they had another room with 2 beds & were informed for an extra charge we could be moved, which we found insane because the whole time we were there, there were only 6 other people there. Most of the property was empty! We definitely would not have booked this place if our travel agency didn't put us here. It's set up for couples, not friends traveling together. The breakfast was the same everyday we were there, there was no complimentary coffee or water available, except during breakfast, it was super cold for March & we had a hard time sleeping with all the wind & farm animal noise. Not to mention the manure smell. Didn't find the staff to be particularly friendly or helpful at all. A full length mirror in the rooms would of at least been nice. We also saw several bugs crawling on the floors & had to shake out our luggage. The only good thing I can say is that the cabins are cute, the dogs...

We had an amazing stay at this eco hotel at Glamping Deluxe in November 2024! From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The bed and pillows were incredibly cozy, with soft, high-quality bed linen that made for a perfect night’s sleep. The toilet and shower were spotless, and the shower and hand gels smelled absolutely delicious—a small but wonderful touch.
We also appreciated the good quality bathrobes and towels, which added to the luxury of the stay. The room was well-equipped with drinks like beer, cola, and water, as well as a coffee maker, which made mornings even better. One of the unique features was the stove in the room, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The bathroom on the veranda was an unexpected and delightful surprise, and the comfortable chairs on the veranda made it the perfect place to relax. The hotel’s beautiful territory was a joy to explore, with lots of decorative figures, swings, tables, and seating areas that created a charming and peaceful environment.
Breakfast was a highlight, with excellent coffee and a delicious spread to start the day right. Dinner at the restaurant was equally impressive, and I highly recommend the tuna steak—it was absolutely delicious.
Overall, this eco hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with great amenities, beautiful surroundings, and top-notch food, this is the place to be. We can’t...
Read moreWe had a good stay here but I'll describe several things you should know. Very good location with wonderful views. There is a lot going on at the property -- a farm, spa, restaurant, bar. Nights were quiet except for roosters and dogs. It is very windy at the property and at night you can hear it whipping - one night had to be at least 50 mph. Cabin did not shake but it was very loud. We had snacks and drinks at the restaurant each night but not dinner. Cute and comfy outdoor seating. Unfortunately a waitperson tried to make a little campfire one night for other patrons and with the wind whipping - let's just say it got a little smoky. Buffet breakfast was included - it was definitely serviceable. Cabins are modest and sparse. As is the case in most of the lodging places we stayed in Costa Rica, bathrooms have a water pressure problem. Hot water in the bathroom sink is not hooked up. Receptionist was not very well informed about the area - could have been trained better. The hiking trail around the property (off-site) was incredibly interesting (it is a fern plantation) and this could be promoted more and a better map and info about it could be made available. Very good location for going to Poas Volcano and La...
