Hotel Pacuare — Hotel in Siquirres

Stayed on 12/3/22 with my elderly mom which has mobility difficulties. There was some sort of graduation event going on when we arrived. I requested a room far away from the noise which I was told will end around midnight. Room was clean and had all the basic facilities. After helped my mom accommodate herself, went back to the car for our luggage. I was surprised cause once you remove the electronic key from the slot all the lights and the AC turned Off! I either left my mom roast inside or left the door open while bringing in all the bags. I decided to go back to the front desk and ask for another key. I was told it wasn't possible: "upper management politics". When I asked to speak to a manager, front desk respectfully try to contact the manager on site. She then replied she was too busy to help me and disregard my request of another key. I didn't had a chance to have dinner cause wasn't able to left the room. I will not recommend this place. Maybe it works for a single traveler, but for a couple or a family it will not. I have been in several hotels and Airbnb with my family and never had this type of situation. We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Cahuita in November 2016 with our children ages 3&5. ||Basic roadside hotel. Room was clean. Beds were very basic. We had a Twin room with 2 beds and that was enough for our family. Pool seemed a bit dirty.||Rooms are behind the restaurant/reception so the noise from the highway doesn't bother much. But we sleep usually very well despite any noise. ||We payed for just two adults and took the breakfast with us since we had to leave early. Since we had reserved the room for 2 adults (did inform the hotel that we have 2 small children with us and no need for extra beds, like we always do), we only got two Breakfasts with us. Usually hotels do not charge extra for breakfast for the kids under 6 years old. |Also if you can eat the breakfast there do so. The ones that was given with us was a poor version of breakfast, 2 pieces of toast and few fruits (that was supposed to be for 2 adults) I did check the possibility to have the breakfast with us the night before. ||Served the purpose for sleeping...

Our room for 3 had 2 double beds and lots of space. But the lighting consisted of 1 bare lightbulb in the center of the ceiling. |There was air conditioning that was controlled by inserting the key card into the control. Of course we had to take the card with us when we went to dinner, so the AC stopped running. I understand this is a big energy savings but it took a mighty long time for the room to cool for sleep.|The staff was pleasant and helpful. We were above to park near our room and the design of the grounds has the rooms away from the highway.|We did not have good internet connection in our room and there was good connecting in the dining room / bar area.|But this was on the front of the hotel, one on the side facing the highway.
