I had such a wonderful and memorable stay here at Rancha Azul. I thank Doris and her whole family for making me feel so welcomed, safe, and cared for. I was traveling solo from the U.S., and wanted to stay somewhere outside of San Jose, to experience the nature and views. If you enjoy the quiet, birds, and stars, you must stay here! My room was very comfortable, with beautiful flowers outside my window, and the sounds of so many beautiful birds.
There are many common spaces for eating or relaxing. The balcony’s (there are 2!) are where I spent most of my time. You can watch sunrise to sunset, and see all kinds of wildlife. On my last night, I sat in the hammock and watched all of the shooting stars.
For me, the location was excellent. Easy drives to volcanos, waterfalls, and Monte Verde.
Breakfast was excellent and well prepared with fresh fruits, eggs, rice, beans and plantains. The coffee was delicious!
They can provide secure parking if you need it, and were very kind to give me a ride to the airport.
I highly suggest this location to anyone looking to take advantage of nature, the day time activities, and looking for a cozy experience a little closer to home.

She made me a delicious lunch and dinner and made sure I had breakfast early in the morning before my flight. The place is comfortable with special touches throughout. It's small and feels like home, with spectacular views and exceptional service. This is truly a...
