Camping Babsita is an absolute hidden gem in Costa Rica! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine smiles. The location is stunning—nestled in nature, with lush greenery all around and the peaceful sound of nearby wildlife. It’s the perfect spot to disconnect from the hustle and truly relax.

The facilities were impressively clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms and showers had hot water, which is a big plus, and the communal kitchen was fully equipped and spotless. Whether you're in a tent or camper, everything you need is here. And despite being surrounded by nature, the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable—a pleasant surprise and super helpful for checking maps, planning the next steps of our trip, or staying connected if needed.

What really sets Babsita apart is the atmosphere. It’s tranquil, safe, and full of positive energy. We met other travelers from around the world and spent the evenings sharing stories under the stars. The owners clearly care deeply about the place and their guests—always available, kind, and full of great local tips.

It was a pleasure to stay at Barbaras Campsite and I enjoyed the open-hearted, caring and chill atmosphere the most! The shared kitchen with free coffee and banana was a nice place to meet new people. I spend much time at the beach, hugging the dogs, reading and I learning how to open pinas like a professional. The campsite is a quiet place and the nature view out of my tent directly a the ocean was great! I saw monkeys coming by two times! If you catch a bus, you can do nice day trips to cauita and puerto viejo.

I´m impressed how Barbara started the whole project by herself and established such a lovely community with the people living close by in such a short time. She is a fair and amiable person! Thank you for the good food, too! I would love to come back for a visit or a stay the next time I´m...

We loved our stay at Camping Babsita, it was the perfect base to relax and explore a bit of the Carribean coast, which was actually our favourite part of Costa Rica. Babs and her team are warm and welcoming and the campsite is so well located on the beachfront. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was simple but all we needed. We loved seeing the resident sloths that live in the trees around the site and the howler monkeys who often came through and we also enjoyed SUPing on the river. The highlight was a big beach barbecue with all the team and volunteers and guests.
