Non-smoking room which smelled like cigarette, the hallway was covered with work material carpet and plastic to cover the wall because other rooms on the same floor using the same hallway was under construction. The bed - which I think should really go, was indented in the middle, so obviously very uncomfortable. The breakfast time was no communicated explicitly - it said until 11AM on booking.com yet it was until 10AM, therefore I missed it too. To compensate the discomfort of non-smoking room which felt like a smoking room, they promised 30% compensation and use of their sauna facility and lunch. Well, what can I say, I could tell that I was being served for free at their restaurant - If I had more time, I would have just left to eat at somewhere else. Plus, after I left the hostel, they broke the promise by saying they cannot return 30% refund as they promised. Zero business ethics and poor management decision to turn around and break their own words.
If that was a superior room as your team insisted on my complaint on Booking.com, it’s concerning what a standard one looks like. It was a small single room with an old, sagging mattress — hardly an upgrade. Your claim that the room was “impeccably clean” is false; your own staff acknowledged the cigarette odor, which I have on record. Either the inspection didn’t happen, or your process is failing. The “welcome treat” - you again insisted as if it was a grand gesture, was a sachet of instant coffee and a packaged croissant — no kettle, not even a small bottle 500ml of water, nothing resembling hospitality. The “luggage assistance” - again you insisted, lasted less than a minute, and the “late breakfast” happened only because I was filing a complaint that morning, plus breakfast time on booking.com is written wrong. Both your staff and manager agreed to a 30% refund and sauna access as compensation — this is recorded. Denying it now is dishonest. Booking.com has already refunded part of it due to your failure to keep your word. It’s disappointing that a 3-star property would misrepresent facts over such a small sum instead of admitting mistakes. Sylvia, Mia and Natalie helped organise many appointments for restaurants, tours, and Museums and have good recommendations on places to eat and visit. I can not thank you enough for your kindheartedness. This Hotel was like one big family hotel where everyone treated you as part of their family. It was like the Bar was my Living room where we had many laughs and good conversations. You all are welcome to come and visit me and my Family and I could only wish 🙏🏼 I can be as good and welcoming as you all have been. 😀 Hotel was extremely clean, the food we had for dinner was delicious. Everything cooked fresh, by the taste of the food we had, even down to the dessert. Bathroom they provide all-in-one shampoo and body wash. Towels cleaned and changed every day. Slippers in the hotel room provided. Mini bar in the hotel with water, juices, and snacks. Housekeepers were wonderful and provided us with snacks. They have a sauna which we used twice and you book it so that it is all for your self. What a lovely experience that was. We ordered fruits and had herbal tea’s whilst relaxing in the sauna area at a cost 45 KN (£5.34) for every hour and additional charges for robe. They also had designed the shower with an old-school bucket filled with cold water. That was so fun to use, as well as having the normal shower facilities. You have a shop across the road to buy, cigarettes, drinks, snacks and more. You have a slot machine venue that is across the road. You are 20 minute drive away from the city centre. You can use the Uber app to get cabs or there local yellow cabs which are very reasonable to get around 55-65HRK (£6.53-£7.72) from the Hotel to the city centre. Read moreDuring our stay in the hotel there was a very noisy party that finished at 2:00 am with live music in the restaurant room downstairs. The drums were so powerful to make the walls shake for the whole night. At the request of help for changing room or building or stop the music at a reasonable hour nobody was able to do something. We didn't sleep at all and I can still ear the music and strong vibration on walls, bed and window. At certain point of the night a group of people came upstairs for singing and making noise accompanied by hotel staff. The cleaning situation was terrible with dead insects inside the lamps.
