Hotel Kornati — Hotel in Grad Biograd na Moru

Well, we have received a super attentive service during our stay: the staff was professional and kind, almost affectionate! But I must say in my opinion this cannot be rated as a 4-star hotel. I might not be considering that there may be different standards in Croatia, but for example, at an Italian 4 stars you would have service at the table at both lunch and dinner, with maybe only appetizers and desserts on a buffet. Plus the cleaning ladies barely made the bed in the morning, and changed the towels if you had thrown them on the bathroom floor: after a few days we found the typical sign "please clean the room" beside the safe, but we were a little embarrassed to show it on the door. I mean, at a 4-star hotel aren't the rooms (bathroom included) being supposed to be hoovered, dusted and polished every day? About the bathroom, we found it a bit tiny and it missed a proper shelf for toiletries; plus the sink was so short and close to the basin that the basin would get splashed everytime we had a quick wash. However, we had a lovely stay and the view from the room was spectacular. The beach, the swimming pool and the dock were great, too. I have seen the other two hotels of the same company (they also have a very efficient travel agency within the premises: Valentino, the sales agent, is really good at his job!) and they look more luxurious than the Kornati. Pls note that the swimming pool is located between the other two hotels, the Illirja (I might have spelled the name in the wrong way) and the Adriatic. Its location is great, short distance to either beach side or restaurant side. Service is mostly friendly and pleasant, people are smiling, working hard fast and well during breakfast and dinner, sometimes too fast, I barely finished my food when they took my plate away xD Breakfast is ordinary for buffet, enough to fill a stomach. If you are a coffee lover or fresh juice lover then rather go and take it somewhere else because they use instant coffee and powders(milk, juice etc.) which is understandable of course. Dinners are okay and for many people there are thing you might not have tried before (like shark, octopus, scorpion fish etc.). During dinners, there is nothing to drink, you have to order it for extra money. They could at least serve tap water with lemon or ice, i understand if someone wants anything else besides water but since the hotel itself is quite expensive(depends on people of course) and it is quite hot outside and many come straight from the beach. Rooms are decent but there is very little room for my medium size suitcase because there's unnecessary couches and so. Air conditioner is there but it cools very little compared to how hot it is outside (it is also personal for everyone) Overall I do recommend it but I, personally wouldn't revisit it, I'd rather try some other hotels but I certainly do not regret coming here as well. We booked this hotel as part of a girls trip and we were so pleased with the location. The bars and restaurants in the vicinity are brilliant and there is so much choice. ||Although we didn’t spend too much time in the hotel so didn’t mind - the quality is poor and the service is pretty rubbish. The rooms are cramped, especially if you book for 3. One of the single beds is very small and in the corner. The duvet didn’t even cover my small friend, her feet stuck out the bottom. The balcony is tiny with two plastic uncomfortable chairs. ||It does not have any pools! You have to walk up the road where you can use the indoor and outdoor pools for free which is good but there are limited sunbeds and it is overpopulated. The lavender bar as part of the hotel with pools serves great pizzas and even better cocktails - worth a visit for sure! ||We’d spilt water on the bed one night and the next day, it did not get changed even though it was visibly soaked! The maid just put the sheet over it and when we came up for a nap that afternoon we were understandably very frustrated (and cranky). The room isn’t as clean as you’d expect but the shower is nice and powerful. ||Breakfast is basic and the hot food in particular does not look appetising.
