Hotel Kvarner Palace — Hotel in Grad Crikvenica

This is a very nice and luxury hotel, the personnel is very friendly and helpful. The half-board (breakfast + dinner) is great, both are served as buffet for extended time (duration 3,5 - 4 hours). Breakfast also includes drinks: coffee, tea, water, juices. Dinner includes one type of juice only. Variety of food is very good! There are many waiters serving, although some are not fully competent, but you can always contact others. During the day, nuts and fruits are available. The saunas are very nice, although they open at 3 pm only (unless it is a rainy day, then they open earlier). Some equipment is a bit worn out, and the elevators get stuck sometimes (but they restart them within 5 minutes), wi-fi quality is average. Room cleaning quality is quite poor though, we always had sand on the floor, and due to some reason they always put bed cover on top of the wardrobe (although we preferred it on the bed, and always put it there). The hotel's territory is very big and green, but unfortunately it has not much functionality, there are a swimming pool with a bar, two tennis courts, a swinging bench, some more usual benches and tables to sit, a parking area (free of charge)... and that's it. It would be really nice to have more facilities there, e.g. a children playground, mini golf, etc. Walk to the beach takes around 5 minutes, the hotel has its own area with the bar and sunbeds, but the access is open for anyone (no control), and some sunbeds are taken by non-guests. My wife and I have been coming to this hotel for years, mostly because of the location, but as another and very important factor, I would single out the hospitality and friendliness of the employees. Every year when we come to this already an extraordinary team, a few more new people join, but in the past years it has always been positive. ||We decided to spend our vacation here again this year and found out that there have been some changes in its administration and that they got a new deputy director. Unfortunately, this is seen on the workers. For the first time, we felt a negative atmosphere among employees and we heard complaints from many.||I am sorry that this hotel is losing its charm of relationship between guests and employees. We also heard that they are forbidden to have deeper contact with the guests, which is very unusual because many of our friends, including us, already at the entrance ask about some dear people who work there.||My wife and I witnessed an unpleasant situation on our last day where we heard the new supervisor lady yelling at her employee for coming to the workplace outside of working hours. We spent 5 nights at the kvarner palace in late August and we were satisfied with all the aspects of our stay.||We had a sea view room (109) which was of adequate size for the four of us (including a 2 month old and 4 year old). Everything in the room was well maintained and in working condition. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was not too loud. The view from the room was well worth the supplement in price despite having had the option to book a larger family room at a lower rate. ||The common areas, garden, pool and beach areas were all very well maintained. We had dinner at the hotel every night as we were on half-board and the buffet was both varied and delicious.||During the day we split our time between the pool and beach area (the hotel has an area on the beach reserved for its guests which is adjoined by a very nice beach restaurant and bar). We had lunch at the beach restaurant almost every day and they offered a good variety of food and comfortable seating. One could as well have service at the pool. ||The staff at either the hotel, pool or beach were all efficient, friendly and eager to cater to our needs.
