Hize na bregu — Hotel in Grad Donja Stubica

We decided on Hize na bregu, to host our friends from the US; to show them Zagorje and bit of the natural beauty in this part of the world.

Hize na bregu, it's owner, curator, Tomislav, were perfect for it. We had an amazing five days here - the porch is one of the most comfortable and coziest in the world. Just perfect to chill and lounge while catching up between friends, while keeping an eye on the little ones having their own adventures in the yard.

Every room, and every little decor in it, was an experience waiting for the curious eye. We started planning out future vacations just to bring friends and family to experience the place and Tomislav's hospitality.

Wonderful little secret, tucked a little away...

We are a a family of 7 who stayed here for a week and loved every moment of it! The accommodations have been lovingly and painstakingly restored. Our hosts were incredibly open, friendly and generous. There was more than enough room for us all and it was so relaxing. There was space for the kids to play, a vegetable patch to roam in (and eat from) and games, crafts and painting resources. A very special and unique place which you will keep remembering fondly. Tomislav has spent years restoring these lovely wooden cottages and filling them with period furniture, fittings and toys. My kids loved trying to figure out old implements and playing with toys from previous generations. Bathrooms and heating are 21st century and excellent...
