Pretty awful to be honest. Well below 4 star standard.
We booked this hotel due to its location to a restaurant we were dining in, that’s about as good as I can say about the place.
The first impression as you walk into the hotel is the stench of cigarette smoke, it’s really unpleasant as a welcome.
The receptionist was rather indifferent on check in, I politely asked in Croatian if she spoke English to which she said she did albeit grudgingly.
I was asked if I would like to pay now or when we checked out, I opted for the latter and was asked to guarantee a credit card, not an issue for me, however, I was passed a piece of paper and asked to write down my credit card details rather than a scan of the card being taken on a secure terminal. Huge area of concern for GDPR.
Our room was ready early, another positive. On first look it seemed ok. But we quickly realised it was lacking in all areas.
The temperature control did not work, despite being set to 21C (the lowest it would go) for over 13 hours the temperature only ever went up, from 23C to 24.5C and made for a really uncomfortable stay.
The walls were paper thin and you could hear every bit of conversation and movement in all directions.
The shower didn’t drain (it was an over bath set up despite being advertised as walk in shower AND bath) by the time I finished it was up to my shins! It also leaked, so when my partner attempted to climb in, he slipped doing so and bashed his knee on the side of the bath.
The ONLY amenities the room had were built in toiletries and towels, no bottled water is provided or available anywhere on site to purchase.
We asked for an iron, they didn’t have one, only a paid for, on site pressing service.
The double bed was a typical continental double, meaning two singles bolted together, which itself is not an issue, but the beside tables were built into the wall which meant one side of the bed was about two feet from the bedside table. The bed was also terribly unsupportive and I ended up having an awful nights (lack of) sleep.
The USB plug next to the bed stopped working (charging my phone) once the light was turned off so no good for overnight use.
Breakfast was ample if a bit lack lustre. However, I saw the waiter fuss a dog and then continue to work serving customers without washing his hands!! We were not serviced by any member of the team, no interaction beyond me asking a question and the room was dirty, both floors and tables.
The “smart” TV in the room had three English channels available, not an issue too much as we don’t come away to watch tv, but all three were news channels, subtitles could only be set to German and about 97% of all the other channels were in German, which I found strange for being in continental Croatia. The smart apps consisted of YouTube, a screen mirroring option and an internet browser that wouldn’t load anything!
All in all, was really unhappy with the hotel!
EDIT: we cut our stay short as when we returned to our room having been out for the afternoon (at 7pm) it hadn’t been serviced by housekeeping and was roasting hot with no sign of a reprise.
Upon checkout the reception team once again seemed indifferent, didn’t ask if we enjoyed our stay, didn’t query why we were leaving early just presented me with the total.
One good thing I will add, we had drinks from the bar the first night and the staff there were actually pleasant...
Read moreI recently had an unfortunate experience at the Princess Cvetković Hotel in Jastrebarsko, Croatia, which has led me to write this review. I must express my disappointment and frustration with several aspects of my stay, which warrant a 1-star rating.
First and foremost, I decided to book directly with the hotel, as they had assured me that they could offer a better deal than what was available on booking platforms. However, the following day, I discovered that the price quoted was not the one promised. This inconsistency in pricing and the failure to honor their commitment left me feeling misled and dissatisfied.
Furthermore, I was unpleasantly surprised to discover an additional charge of two euros per person for an unsolicited dish called "Postava Convert" at the restaurant. It was automatically added to our order without any prior consultation or consent. This practice of adding extra charges without the customer's knowledge or consent is highly unethical and leaves a negative impression.
Additionally, I found the overall quality and facilities of the hotel to be far from deserving of its claimed 4-star rating. The hotel's appearance and amenities did not meet the standards one would expect from a hotel of this classification. It fell short in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall ambiance.
I believe it is crucial for hotels to provide accurate and transparent information to their guests, ensuring a comfortable and satisfactory experience. Unfortunately, my experience at the Princess Cvetković Hotel failed to meet these expectations.
In conclusion, I regret to say that my stay at the Princess Cvetković Hotel was marred by unwelcome surprises, questionable pricing practices, and a lackluster quality that did not align with its advertised rating. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the management to address these issues and improve their services for future guests.
Please note that this review reflects my personal experience, and others may have...
Read morebeen here with my partner for a short stop ( just 3 days) and I really appreciated the place!|The staff is very professional and gentle, they really help you whenever you need. As a smoker I asked one smoking free room and they moved me without any complain.|The whole hotel and the rooms are in modern style, all very clean, really my biggest compliments to them.|The food for me was on high level, very tasty and well done- someone here wrote that the breakfast is nothing special, that's not true because all the ingredients were fresh and quality stuff...I think that you don't need too much processed and complicated food in the morning, it's way better to eat simple but quality fresh food...but ok thats a matter of points of view perhaps :)|There are also very good saunas and a gym, and I used to go in the swimming pool too.|I am very satisfied with this small break in this structure, and suggest it to anyone wants a bit of relax and good food!||the only average point are the surroundings of the hotel, there are a couple of abandoned factories along with many uncompleted or abandoned houses..there is some feeling of post-soviet hinterland, a little depressed...but I am sure the municipality will improve it in the future. Some works are in progress, like the renovation of the castle near by and the bike trail. For now, if you want to see better tourist atractions you have to get the car.|But if you are looking just for relax in the pool and the saunas, this place for me is perfect!|will be...
