We stayed with AL and his family in October and loved every minute of it they were so super friendly and welcomed us into to their house as if we were family. We were lucky as we had the top floor to our selves but the rooms were big with a communal Kitchen and Dining room and separate Toilet Shower room. They have a supply of Ingredients and other things if you need to cook and you pay by a honesty box which I thought was a great idea. Al picked us up from the Airport which is 10mins drive away and also took us to the ferry port for a very reasonable fee. We enjoyed going into Split on the local BUS which hopefully next year will be even nearer as they are building a new road near the Guest house. The bus runs promptly every 20mins and takes about 35 mins and the bus station is near the main town. Every thing was very clean and plenty of utensils in the Kitchen.. There is a nice Restaurant nearby. In the room we had we had 2 balconies one looking to the sea and the other the Mountains. There are Supermarkets nearby and about 20mins to the small Beach but uphill on the way back but not too strenuous I am over 70 and I managed it ok..We have travelled a lot all over Europe and have never stayed with such a friendly family as Als nothing is too much trouble for them . We hope to go back to Croatia next year and next time hire a car but we had no trouble getting...
Read moreGiovanna is a true gem for budget conscious groups willing to walk or drive a bit to see the area. The hotel is located almost equal distances between Split and Trogir. Bus routes with easy and inexpensive connections are a 10 minute walk and swimming areas are about 15 minutes by foot. Ask for the rooms on the 2nd floor facing the sea for a wonderful view from the balcony. Also treat yourself for a special breakfast in the wine cellar, it was an additional 40 Kuna per person during our visit. An amazing welcome should not surprise you and don't hesitate to ask to taste excellent homemade liqueurs and wine both of which are available for sale. This guest house is not an elegant place, but clean, friendly and overflowing with Croatian hospitality. Say hello from the...
Read moreWe have just left Giovanna guesthouse and had the most wonderful time. It's located next to the Marina Kastela and is a 20 min drive from Split, which was perfect for us as we had done a bit of travelling and wanted some down time. |Al collected us from the bus stop and drove us to our apartment and dropped us to Split city centre to catch our boat to Hvar. |We really enjoyed our stay and had fantastic views out over the sea/marina. |Al is a fantastic guy, made us feel very welcome and has a great sense of humour; he even brought us fresh tomatoes, figs and watermelon on separate days. A fantastic guy, a great location and great facilities if you want to chill out away from the hustle and bustle of the...
