The hostel specially opened up for our group of 16 for one day before we headed to Bosnia and one night as we had an early return flight from Split airport. Jako could not have been more helpful. When a group member fell ill, he took them to the hospital and allowed them to stay the whole period. The beds are very comfortable, there are tea & coffee facilities in a little hut in the garden where you can use the kitchen facilities. The bathrooms are clean but the warm water is limited due to solar panels. Note that if you are in a big group, you have to eat standing up as there are not enough spaces to sit and eat. This is the only reason I deducted a point.||||So if you need somewhere to stay near the airport, I would highly recommend this lovely place. We swam in the sea and managed to walk to the airport which is literally straight down the road about 1.5 miles (took 20 mins). With heavy luggage it may not be recommended but taxis are available. Worth noting that Ueber-drivers didn't turn up, so are less reliable but perhaps it was because we came out of season. There is a bar 500 yards down the beach you can have a nice drink and restaurants & supermarkets within walking distance.||||Jako put on a nice breakfast with fruit, great bread, salami, ham & cheese as well as, jams and honey and fruit juices, all for €3! ||||We will definitely stay here again if we can, so maybe see you next year, Jako!||||Thanks for all your help and keep up...
Read moreI went to Croatia this August for the first time, also on my own travelling for the first time, so naturally I had no idea what to expect but thought the price was reasonable and the location looked ideal. When I arrived Jako (the owner) was fantastic. He was very kind and hospitable, and had great knowledge about travelling around the area. The room itself was well kept. But don’t expect a five star hotel - the vibe at Oktarin is more like a home from home, with decent showers and a beautiful garden area to chill out whenever. The lovely location right by the beach made things easy for data when I just wanted to chill, and there’s a bar right on the beach (cash only though so be prepared for that). The people I met made there experience for me, but in general the atmosphere at Oktarin is very relaxing and chill. I felt safe, and looked after there. Perfect for first timers or people travelling on their own. Everyone was very respectful and easy to talk to there. Good vibes only at Oktarin!!! I would...
Read moreI went to Ultra Music Festival with 2 of my friends for a total of 3 days, which included sleeping on the festival camping. Obviously we were all exhausted afterwards and wanted a relaxing place to stay close to the beach to recharge. I have stayed in many hostels in different continents, and this one definitely earned itself a top spot on my list. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, there is a true 'home stay' feeling with a backyard where you can relax, but most importantly however, Jako, the host was excellent. He made sure that we had everything we needed. As it is a quiet and remote place he was always happy to drive us around to nearby locations such as the local supermarket or ATM or any other place we wanted to go. ||||If you're looking for a quiet couple of days at beautiful spot next to the beach, it is definitely worth checking this place out. ||||Cheers for the excellent couple of days Jako. If I'm ever back in the region I'll drop by for a...
