Hotel St. Benedikt — Hotel in Grad Novigrad

A family run hotel, situated in a small village between Umag and Novigrad. Very peaceful surrounds and about 4 minutes walk from a pebble beach. Having its own pool is a major plus. The family running the hotel are really nice people and very attentive but not over powering. Usual continental breakfast is offered along with eggs and bacon. They have a bar, and sitting on the patio in the well manicured gardens in the evening with a drink is super. The rooms are quite large with air conditioning, comfy bed, and wardrobe space. No tea/coffee making facilities in room, but not really an issue for me. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower.||Stayed in July 2012 and it was hot. Really enjoyed the pool in the afternoon, (which gets full sun), after early sightseeing. If you want the type of facilities that a multi chain group hotel offer then this is not for you, but for a friendly, peaceful, not crowded, more than adequate place to stay then this is good. The location is very nice and quite and the hotel is not far from the main beaches and the main touristic towns. Continental breakfast was not so bad and the park of the hotel is very nice with a small but nice swimming pool. Unlikely there were a lot mosquitos and it was impossible to relax completely. ||The problem was the room: poor furniture and one of the smallest bathroom we have ever seen. We enjoyed a short stay at Sv Benedikt at the tail end of the summer season but were still able to enjoy continental breakfasts in the sunlit garden. Ever helpful owner Neda cooked super evening meals for ourselves and ex-pat friends who had joined us for a couple of days.
