We visited the camping as a couple with 2 dogs (golden retrievers).
The phone operator, reception and even maintenance team spoke good English, and everyone was friendly with us, even during handling our complaint. (details below)
The camping is fairly big and busy with a lot of houses, places for tents, RVs, electric cars were charging, there were mobile homes and small apartments too. (!) This camping has partners who are reserving space on the camping's territory and build and list their own homes on online travel agencies and websites. If you find a deal on the web, I recommend you to book it online instead of calling to make sure there is no confusion. We were told that multiple misunderstandings happened due to this in the past (including us), so just make super-sure you get what you are looking for, or better to book it online.
The camping's gate allows entry only for guests. No cars allowed in or out after midnight, which I welcome from security and safety perspective. Reception is open till 23:00, which is also great for late check-in. There is a long beach even for the dogs and options for additional activities from diving to volleyball. We have not used them, but there are restaurants and also a shop in the camping, and Pula centrum is few mins away and has everything you may need.
We usually go with standard apartments and were worried about the noise and cleanness of the camping: but it was all great, no disturbing noise and everything was very clean, even the public showers (we just checked, never used it though).
The booking process was flexible over the phone, but also caused a misunderstanding, you can read our story below: We wanted to get "Luxury Mobile Homes Istria" for which we got a good deal on the web, but managing the reservation through phone resulted in getting a standard mobile home (much smaller) for €50 higher grand total (complaint settled). Though we said multiple times during the phone call the name of the listing we found, we were never told there is no "luxury" houses in the camping and we were never mentioned it may be listed by the camping's partners. The price was around the same (without additional fees which we were not told about), so we said ok, let's finalize the booking with a human. It was very later (8 p.m.), so made more sense for us. Then we found out we got a standard home. It was 22:40 so we were told to go back to the reception next morning. We decided to unpack and stay for the 2 nights, it takes us 1.5 hrs to pack, so it's better to manage then try to move. Next morning, after explaining the issue on the reception I had to send an email with the details, then talk to the manager. It took a good 2 hrs in total, but everyone was kind and patient. At the end I asked the manager to at least meet the price of the listing to be fair, so we don't get for higher price a smaller apartment with less fancy interior. I was strongly against paying more as we were mislead by their operator (by accident). At the end she listened to our part of the story, agreed and gave as additional discount to meet the price. Big-big thanks again for the calm and patient discussion and for understanding the problem and compensating us for the trouble.
We spent 2 nights in a standard mobile home. It was clean, everything worked & was cleverly organized: 2 bedrooms, a small bathroom, AC, fridge with freezer, micro, electric kettle, glasses, plates, etc. with sufficient lighting inside and outside as well. In the morning (we arrived very late previous night) we even got a welcome package which included the things we did not found but had our own (dishwashing fluid, sponge, hand sanitizer, even shampoo for the dogs!). What I really liked about it is the terrace that was built in front of the entrance, it was elevated and spacious.
In general I recommend the camping, it was a positive surprise for us. You can just park, unpack and forget the car for weeks if you prefer to, you have everything you need for...
Read moreThis review is specific to Eurocamp at Brioni Sunny, Pula.||We were shocked on arrival- given the description and pictures online.|The resort is absolutely huge, this was in no way made clear to us. There is no beach space due to the amount of people at the campsite. The pictures on the Eurocamp site are totally unrepresentative - for example the photos of sunloungers and trampolines given by Eurocamp and listed as amenities are at significant charge. The whole place is a 1980s resort that has seen little upgrade. For 2500 people on site they have three toilet blocks and two washing machines.||The Eurocamp block of property is the furthest possible from the beach and next to a noisy road, with squads of noisy, honking quad bikes at all hours.||The quality of the cabins is shocking. They list pictures of the cabins but actually the last photo on the reel is what they all look like. Terribly dated, dirty- greasy stains on sofas and curtains, crusty dirt on tables.|We paid for sheets and were given two flat bedsheets- with duvets with no covers- that had crusty stains. A promise of clean duvets made never arrived.|The Eurocamp staff were grumpy, sullen and unhelpful. Gone are the days of a welcoming reception with board games, leaflets and a friendly good morning.||Positives- (only for the resort) main reception staff are helpful and friendly, there are four perfectly acceptable bars/ restaurants, bakery and mini market, it’s a safe place to be, bay is calm and it is a beautiful bay.||Overall- Stay away from Eurocamp at Brioni Sunny- plenty of excellent options in this part...
Read morePros: Directly on the seaside, perfect swimming and diving. Located near boat rental and ferry marina, as well as culturally significant and interesting historical sites. Exceptionally clean showers and restrooms and other facilites with friendly staff on duty all day ensuring it stays so (janitorial staff especially applauded for their work keeping things sparkling). Camp store well stocked with plenty of snacks and drinks, as well as basic fruit, veg, and meats. Resturants of excellent quality, fair prices, again with friendly, approachable staff, and special thanks for not taking advantage of the beach-goers and charging an absurd premium for beach front service.
Cons: WiFi infrastructure could definitely be improved, especially considering the local network coverage was fairly spotty. Basic tent campsites could benefit from the planting of some large trees to offer some shade, as the direct sun rendered our tent almost uninhabitable until late in the evening. This would also likely benefit the adjacent cabins, reducing the need to operate their air conditioners as often, offering energy a maintenance savings the facility. The tent field could also use some grading or landscaping to remove the abundant stones that our plot in particular seem to be full of. It made hammering of tent stakes exceptionally difficult, and punctured the floor of our tent with the first few days.
Bottom Line: Outstanding, and Highly recommended. Cant wait...
