As an American tourist…..
When you put this park and hotels into context of everything that is offered on the island I give it 5 stars. The rooms in Karmen are not air conditioned as some visitors complained about however, they are vintage, charming and a part of history. The Neptune hotel (next to the Karmen ) offers that for a higher price.
If you need air conditioning to enjoy your summer vacation then you will be spending more for your accommodation at Brijuni park. I think some people aren’t aware that if you are staying in a living relic, You won’t have every convenience of modern society. Maintaining old buildings is expensive, retrofitting them is too. Plan accordingly and keep in mind that simply having the opportunity to visit such a place is rare and exceptional.
I suggest renting the bikes for the day and travel the entire path around the island. Amazing views, swimming, remains of ancient churches and dwellings. I’m in awe that such a place exists.
The food is decent and for the price of accommodation and everything that is offered I believe it’s an excellent price.

Read moreThe hotel looks retro which carries a lot of nostalgia. Seaview is beautiful with nature surrounding it. Not an expensive hotel to stay at. Staff is friendly and kind towards everyone. Rooms are nicely equipped with Internet, except the walls would need to be repainted and the bathroom tiles cleaned. In the lobby, the fluorescent lamps could be retrofitted with LED tubes so that there could be more light and to save electricity. One of the best hotels on the northern Adriatic. It would maybe finally be time of this hotel could become pet friendly so that we can all socialize and develop positive emotions. In case of shedding, brooms and vacuum cleaners would be used to pickup hair and everything would be...
Read moreUnfortunately i have to admit that the management is completely unable to manage the striking property; besides that the hotels & facilities are falling apart which is still much better than the catastrophic renovations destroying the unique heritage the main issue is that they just want to cash in as much they possibly can. I came here for peace, tranquility and nature but i got a whole night bad taste loud music echoing on the whole island. The management actually approved live music private party in the central port until 4 am meaning that the whole island was unable to sleep. So sad seeing this jewel of the Mediterranean...
