Hotel Santiny — Hotel in Grad Sveta Nedelja

I am deeply disappointed with the lack of empathy and understanding shown by Santiny Hotel. We were travelers on a long road trip, crossing three different countries, and had specifically chosen this hotel as a decent stop along the way. Unfortunately, we had a tire accident in Austria, which delayed our arrival in Croatia and caused us to miss the opportunity to leave our dog at an animal service — everything was already closed by the time we reached the area.

In an already stressful and difficult situation, with a damaged car tire and no alternatives available, we arrived late at Santiny Hotel only to be refused the room we had already booked and prepaid — simply because of our dog. While we fully understand and respect different hotel policies regarding pets, this was clearly an emergency. We were stranded, exhausted, and in desperate need of help, but instead of showing compassion or trying to find a solution, the hotel staff chose to turn us away. To make matters worse, they also refused to issue a refund for the room we had already paid for — a room they wouldn’t even let us use.

The total lack of flexibility and humanity in this situation was shocking. Hospitality is not just about rules — it’s about understanding and helping people when they truly need it. Santiny Hotel failed in this regard, and I would strongly advise fellow travelers to think twice before booking here if they expect even a minimal level of care or support in difficult...

More of us stayed at this hotel for several days. Some rooms are big and new with sofas and others are small and look older so you need a little luck.|||| Mine was small and the air conditioning was very loud after 3 minutes. I had to close the window (loud main road) and wanted to cool down the hot room but I couldn't sleep because of the noise. Also, there was an unpleasant smell in the bedroom coming from the bathroom (or a/c?).||In another room the A/C wasnt working at all.||The breakfast offered a few options but e.g. no scrambled eggs which is unusual in my opinion. ||I was a little disappointed after reading all these...

Great place, very friendly staff. We stayed in this hotel for one night during our way from Croatia coast. It was our middle point on our way and it was great decision to sleep here. The room was clean with everything we might need. We had dinner in the restaurant and the meal was perfect, tasteful and they even prepared for our son meal which wasn't on the list. Really very nice people. The dinner was for affordable price and I missed only tap beer. The breakfast was included in the room price, was very reach, and served inside in a very nice place.
