Luxury Apartments White Villa Violeta — Hotel in Municipality of Kolan

We booked this accommodation almost a year before our trip to ensure we got a good price as we knew we were booking for a busy time.||The owner waited 6 months (and enough time for the prices to hike on every other apartment in the area) to request we cancel our booking, we refused as we would be paying over the odds to find a replacement. He agreed we could stay as long as we abided by the house rules. If we did not, we would be kicked out, even in the middle of our stay.||Said house rules are very subjective and include 'no noise inside or outside of the apartment' which could be interpreted in many ways. We now had fears of talking around the pool midday and subsequently being homeless in Croatia.||Regardless, we agreed to follow the house rules with the hopes the owners were reasonable and would tolerate basic noise...||We then received a message saying we were not staying there no matter what, if we did not accept the cancellation request, we would lose the money we paid to book. Obviously, we asked why!||The owner's response was literally 'because I've heard about English people and do not want them staying here'. Completely unbelievable.||This then left us in a situation where we had little to no time to find replacement accommodation, eventually, we did but ended up paying far more for accommodation nowhere near as nice. So beware and don't waste your time...

😊: The property is just fantastic, pictures are not reflecting the whole beauty of the property and the very luxurious accommodation it offers, a lot of passion was put to details that brings out that special wow effect. When we arrived we were amazed. We are family with 2 kids and the property offers you a perfect getaway, where you can enjoy spacious and a very clean pool, kids have their own playground, there is also a turtle farm and for pit masters a very nice grill. Cherry on top are the tavern "konoba" on the pool ground with wine cooler, ice maker, coffe machine etc & sound system on the pool area to enjoy relaxing days in full. On the site they have a housekeeper that takes care of the place with such dedication and special care, always around and making it spotless and extra enjoyable for guests. The property is very big and with only 4 apartments it means that you have a feeling that you are alone on the property. We stayed 7 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. We went to the beach only 1x half a day as there was no need to go to a crowdy beach. Beach is a steep 250m walk away, but manageable even for a 3 year old. Just perfect! Well, if the apartment had been clean, I think it would have been a very nice place to stay for a few days. It's big, it's bright, Anton (the housekeeper) is very nice - but for my stay that was all I can mention positively.||||Although I only stayed one night (from 3 nights booked in the first place), I can't really say that this accommodation is worth a 5-star rating. Yes, the materials used in this apartment are not bad (in terms of quality), but the problem was more the cleanliness. It was really very dirty, greasy, moldy, dusty, fingerprints everywhere and far, far from giving a pleasant feeling. I have attached pictures showing the problems (and these are only a selection). And now, before someone shouts "Why didn't you tell the housekeeper that you are not satisfied with the condition of the apartment ...?" - If this condition of the apartment is what you want to present to your guests in the first place and clean only after a complaint, then I hope that potential guests will draw their own...
