A Haven of Wholeness and Tranquility – Materra Hotel, Čepin, Croatia
Nestled in the heart of Slavonia, surrounded by vast, uninterrupted plains, Materra Hotel offers an experience that transcends the ordinary. Promoting wholeness and balance, this sanctuary delivers on its promise, blending luxury, tranquility, and nature into one seamless retreat.
Anchored in Nature
Materra’s design pays homage to its surroundings. With earthy tones, dimmed lighting, and an absence of noise or light pollution, the atmosphere feels deliberately calming. Each balcony overlooks miles of open fields, creating the sensation of being in a secluded hut, perfectly in tune with the natural landscape.
This sense of harmony extends indoors. The rooms are meticulously designed to preserve the serenity gained in the wellness zone. No hum of appliances, no glare from electronics—just silence and stillness. With pitch-black curtains and a firm, supportive mattress, the room invites uninterrupted rest, ensuring that the peace experienced during the day carries through the night.
World-Class Wellness and Impeccable Service
The wellness area rounds out the offering. Spacious saunas, pristine cleanliness, and high-quality facilities create a space that feels as premium as it is welcoming. The design strikes a careful balance—offering indulgence without excess and comfort without compromise.
Service at Materra is equally impressive. The staff’s kindness is genuine and effortless. Every interaction feels intentional, turning even the simplest exchange into an opportunity to delight. The breakfast, much like the rest of the experience, is thoughtfully prepared—wholesome, quiet, and healthy, perfectly aligned with the hotel’s ethos.
Attention to detail is a defining feature here. At 10:57 AM, with breakfast ending at 11, I sat unbothered as I lingered over my coffee. The staff recognized my rhythm and respected it, reinforcing Materra’s commitment to providing a personalized, stress-free experience.
A Fog That Disconnects You to Reconnect You
Materra’s setting enhances its appeal. One morning, I awoke to a thick Slavonian fog that enveloped the hotel, blurring its boundaries with the surrounding fields. If San Francisco has Karl, this fog deserves a name of its own. It shrouded the property in a natural veil, creating a sense of isolation and serenity. From the heated pool, the mist made the temperature difference almost visible, adding yet another sensory layer to the experience.
Beyond Comparison
Materra defies easy comparison. While its facilities and service match the world’s best, what sets it apart is the way it breathes tranquility. It reminded me of The Retreat at Blue Lagoon, Iceland, where nature disconnects you from the world so you can reconnect with yourself.
Materra is more than a hotel; it’s a state of mind. It anchors you, inspires you, and restores you. Whether for rest, reflection, or reconnection, Materra is a destination worth returning to.
If you’re seeking a place that redefines relaxation, where nature and luxury coexist, Materra is a clear standout. It’s not just a stay—it’s an...
Read moreI think this is best hotel in croatia east from Zagreb. Opened in 2023, marvelous design with modern arhitecture. In middle of nowhere so it is dead silent. Parking has charging station for EV. Jacuzzi is just something else. View is outstanding. Lounge is quiet with sofas and great spacing between so it feels private. Also massage service is really good. Breakfast is good but it is not up to standards of a hotel. Would prefer more variations on bread for example, and it should be sliced, not like I mind slicing my bread but some people seem to do not know of this invention called bread knife. As a coffe lover…coffe is bad, to much acidity, so much acidity that I would dare to say its one of the most acidic coffes I have ever tried. You need to change the brand, it does not fit the location or domestic peoples taste pallet. Some of alcoholic drink prices can compete with hogh end local bars in Zagreb which is surprising for a Hotel. All in all...
Read moreLove, love, love! My husband and I spent the weekend at Materra for a much-needed rest. We made a perfect choice! The hotel is just beautifully designed. The modern design incorporated within the beautiful Slavonian countryside beautifully brings old and new together. The wellness centre brought total tranquillity and bliss to our stay. I even managed to book in for a cheeky little facial. I 100% recommend it. Something new, something old, something blue.
Besides the facilities, interior, and location, we felt that Materra staff absolutely make this hotel. They say that 'People make Glasgow' for Glasgow in Scotland, so in this case, it's 'Materra personnel makes the Materra'. They are knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and, most of all, very adaptable to the guest's communication style.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and we can't wait to...
