Holiday House Pure Nature — Hotel in Općina Barilović

The property is in a beautiful, but remote location (10 minute drive to nearest village, 30+ minute drive to closest town).

We booked through booking.com. There were MULTIPLE inaccuracies in the detailed listing for this property.

There, the property description says, "Guests benefit from a sauna". The sauna was out of order. The property description also listed the following facilities, NONE of which it had: Spa bath Free toiletries Alarm clock Coffee machine Toaster Sauna (out of order) Game console (Wii) Video games Video DVD player Telephone Tea/Coffee maker Safety deposit box Air conditioning Spa facilities.

The washing machine (which the owner said was not working) was in a locked basement to which we were not (originally) given a key. When we were given the key (to get the vacuum cleaner to deal with an infestation of bugs -- see below), the basement was basically a dirty dumping ground. If that was supposed to be accessible to guests (for the listed washing machine), then it should be clean and tidy!

Under activities, the property description included "beach"; there is a grassy riverside picnic area about 350m away (though marked 'private'), but no beach.

Under "Accessibility", the listing says, "Upper floors accessible by stairs only". In fact, the whole house is only accessible by stairs (there is a flight of stairs to the front door). Anyone with mobility issues will find the property inaccessible.

When we arrived, ALL the upstairs rooms were INFESTED with "stink bugs", including bugs that had nestled under the bedding and inside the pillowcases. Now, I understand that in the autumn in a wooded area, you can expect some bugs to find their way into the house. But, for there to be SO MANY, all I can assume is that the property had been "prepared" several weeks prior to our arrival, and then not checked before we turned up. Our younger son refused to sleep upstairs for two nights (until we had "de-bugged" the room, and he saw it stayed that way). Our older son (who had contributed to the cost of the holiday) wanted to leave immediately and find ANYWHERE else to stay; we didn't leave, but it certainly SOURED...

A very wonderful house with everything you can't think off available, like a Poker game set, great sound system, Wifi. There is even a Bluetooth speaker in the kitchen downstairs so that you can party while barbecuing. Rooms are clean, big, with a very comfortable bed. Not to mentioned the Sauna 😀😀.
