Stayed in one of the apartments which were extremely well priced and great value for money. Apartment had 2 rooms (2 single beds and 1 double bed), lounge room, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. ||The place looked neat and tidy and well presented over all. Wifi worked well/fast and came in handy.||Very close to the beach (with a little island) as well as snorkel, boat, jet ski, scuba, scooter, kayak etc. hire. Prices at reasonable prices. ||Breakfast was include in the price which was great because there are no grocery stores close by apart from the tiny grocery store in the resort (which has just the essential supplies). Closest store was approx. 20-30mins walk one way which was a little bigger and had a little more variety to chose from. Besides that, main grocery stores are in Blato or Korcula cities. Only accessible via taxi (or rented scooter, bicycle or by car if you drove to the island) as no public transport on the island during peak season.||Front desk staff was friendly and helpful especially one male staff member who was extremely friendly and went more than out of his way to help us with everything. Especially booking a coach bus and ferry tickets on line - our bank cards were not accepted and he ended up using his card and we payed him in cash. ||Over all great island, relaxing and peaceful and recommend for quiet get aways from the busy and over crowded tourist places.||The only negative thing that stood out about the island was the lack of public transport during tourist season (non tourist season public transport resumes) so that we could get around the island cities. We paid 160 Kuna (AUD $33) to go from Prizba to Blato (approx 11kms from our apartment).||There are only a hand full of taxis on the island and although they use a meter, on the day of our departure the taxi driver set a fee almost double of its usual rate because we were leaving at 5:20am. We were charged 250 Kuna (AUD $52) for a 8km ride to Smokvica.||If you plan to move around the Island, best way is to know a local with a car or hire a scooter or bicycle at a fraction...
Read moreBoth last and this year we really did have a good time here.
I really wanted to give a review of the beach restaurant but since it is still not on the map I write a review both of the Hotel and Restaurant.
This is a beach hotel with well equipped apartments many of them with direct sea view.
For breakfast they give you a wide range of choices. All you need to take care is not to have too much. Fresh melon was offered every morning. Of that you can have as much as you like without risking putting on too much weight. 😁
Some of the rooms have kitchen other don’t. Ours didn’t have we preferred the fabulous sea view from the top floor.
Boats and jet skies and also diving equipment can be hired. We hired a power boat and went for a tour nearby. That is an experience although you need a proper license for powerful boats.
Now let’s talk about the beach restaurant I wanted to introduce really.
This is rather both a beach, bar and restaurant together, overlooking to the sea with a fabulous view. Anyone can visit but no one really knows about it other than the hotel guests.
The selection they offer is not a wide one but your visit will be very enjoyable.
Local cheese is a must have as an appetizer.
Mussels in white sauce are the best in Croatia. The chef’s home made sauce is outstanding and cannot be compared to any other I had before. Garlic toast is on the side of which chunks I left soaked in the sauce.
Seafood pasta is also stunning. The sauce again is fabulous and since you get a huge portion it is also very filling. Usually if you would like to have first class fish you would be better to pre order it but they also keep a fish of the day which is orata regularly.
Wine especially the Plavac Mali 2017 is outstanding.
Service is very friendly.
Desserts mainly consist of pancakes rather on the sweet side but they are also offering banana split, which is the best in my opinion.
The view is...
Read moreIn mid-September, we spent a week here with my partner. The island itself is marvelous, perfect for those who love large rocky, stony beaches. However, we discovered that we prefer the sandy, more comfortable beach. If you're looking for a more comfortable beach experience, head to a place called Zitna.||At the dive center, I didn't feel there was excessive assistance; it seemed like they were running the dive center for themselves, but this might have been due to the late season. The breakfast was suitable for us, although towards the last day, it became somewhat monotonous to see and eat the same thing every day, but it was okay. The tomato sardine pasta in the restaurant was divine (I make a similar dish at home), but we didn't eat there often due to the high prices.||The view from our apartment terrace was perfect. It was a bit strange that there was no TV in the room (I would have liked to watch a movie from a USB drive in the evenings), but ultimately, one should be gazing at the sea, shouldn't they? The apartment was clean and fairly well-equipped, but my only issue was with the mattress. As they say, the mattress is one of the most important things when it comes to accommodation, and unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations here (room 211). Thankfully, there was a spare bed with a foam mattress, which I placed on the floor and slept on.||We survived and processed it all; the island itself is wonderful. We explored a lot on the island, but this isn't the place we...
