We spent four wonderful days at Hidden Gem by Nono Ban. The accommodation is located in a beautiful bay on the southern side of the island of Brač. A more or less private road leads to the accommodation, which is a real treat for the driver. We stayed in the Robinsonade Hidden Gem III, which I personally highly recommend. It is a hobbit-style accommodation, where there are two bedrooms with a bathroom and a toilet. All this is dominated by an outdoor kitchen with seating and a terrace, from which there is a wonderful view of the sea, the island of Hvar opposite and the surrounding nature. The "cherry on the cake" is a few meter path with steps to a private concrete area with a small cave, where we had the sea all to ourselves. For us, the absolute minimum shortcoming was the absence of steps from the water. We didn't even want to go shopping in the city from such a wonderful place. Read moreThe first thing to note is that this place is truly secluded - which is a virtue - but please note there is a challenging drive down to the villa. 13 tight hairpin turns down a steep mountainside, some of which are on dirt roads. Best done with a smaller car. It's a stunningly beautiful drive, but not for the faint of heart. ||||Once you're at the bottom you have the whole bay to yourself, including a beach and a small concrete jetty. The water is beautiful (as it is throughout Croatia). The view from the villa is superb, best enjoyed with a glass of wine as you tend to the open fire on your verandah's stone cooking area. ||||The villa itself is comfortable but basic. There's solar power and wifi. ||We visited end of season and the weather was perfect. ||||There's loads of walking and swimming that can be done in the surrounding area. But really, it's all about soaking up the extraordinary view. ||||Loved our stay here - highly...
Read moreIdilic place. The waters are incredibly clear.
The house is equipped with the basics what you need for a pleasant stay (kitchenware, amenities, sunbeds, fireplace...)
The road is narrow, windy and very steep. I suggest driving a small car and making sure that nobody else is driving up or down at the same time.
The owner was helpful and helped us to arrange a rental car for the 3 days we spent in Brač.
Pd. There is a cat in the surroundings. He liked to join us in the evenings. He didn't get too close or disturb but he seemed to enjoy the company. We left food for him in the house. Please consider providing him with water and food.
