All looks, no substance. Aestheticially the hotel is very pleasing. However that's where it ends. I'm not paying almost 200 euro a night for this level of quality. Beyond that I'm not sure where to start to make this as useful as possible for potential future guests and management, so I'll start from the beginning: - Parking: difficult, apparently due to covid there are an increased number of cars leading to it being very challenging to park. Many have block one another to park. Allegedly locals park here as well and they're unable to enforce hotel only parking. - refrigerator by default is off, meaning it takes a very long period too cool any drinks. No minibar obviously. - No ice machine either, which normally not an issue, but with such high Room temperatures, very difficult and I was hoping for something to cool down with. - Air Conditioning: Essentially non-existent. Our Room was at 28 degrees when we entered and 29 degrees (23 outside)!!! Even after turning the AC on. I felt the air blowing from it and it was in fact hotter than outdoors. Oh and when I called I was told the entire hotel is set to a minimum of 25 degrees, meaning that despite allowing you to lower the temperature on the thermostat it's it's complete ruse. - Bathroom: no exhaust fan, so absolute crazy humidity in the bathroom after a shower. Additionally the shower is designed very poorly leading to a large puddle of water after each shower. - Bedding: one soft pillow and a blanket, no undersheet. Meaning either you sleep fully uncovered or sweating under the blanket. - Mask policy: unclear. I didn't see a single guest wearing a mask, which I suppose is fine, but it's unclear what the hotel stance is. Reception does wear masks. - Breakfast: poor covid policy again. However better than reception, sanitizer at the front, but everything served buffet style and you had to slice your own bread (not normally a problem). The omellete station had a cook that when asked for an omelet replied in disbelief: "Now?"😂 Moreover it was as if it was his first time ever preparing an Omelet, he simply poorly mixed some eggs and then after finishing cooking it placed the ingredients inside like a sandwich. Concrete Beach: Nice view, but there are many sea urchins, including near the stairs into the water. It appears they attempted to make a path, however there are a few sea urchins right along the stairs, so if your not careful you may be unlucky. That said, the water of the Adriatic is amazing and with good attention you should be fine. Service: Iva was helpful, but not much you can do with such management and ownership. Based on this experience the hotel is FAR FAR away from a 3 star experience. It appears management focused on a renovation of the hotel on all of the superficial elements and nothing that actually matters. If management is reading this, I want my money back, because I booked this hotel SPECIFICALLY for a relaxing final night in Croatia, instead I got my worst night in Croatia. Management: if you are reading this. I want a full refund, this experience was and I had a terrible night sleep, let alone all the other problems.

As many reviews say on trip advisor. Don't be fooled by the 3 star rating. This hotel is phenomenal for a 3 star. Couldn't be set in a more ideal setting. Just out the back doors of the restaurant is the Adriatic sea, a restaurant you get 15% off in for staying in the hotel which has it's own great views of the sea as seen in my photos. A few paces left as you walk out is the main town an harbour. You have a local shop where you can get anything you need, and a pharmacy, and of course loads and loads of restaurants and souvenir shops. The local ice cream is also fantastic. Also to the left of the hotel only a few paces is Michael the local place to purchase any excursions you wish to do, boat trips to Dubrovnik, kravice falls and Bosnia and Herzegovina was one we did which was amazing, and Michael is very good at explaining everything, trustworthy and cheaper then everyone else. Cavtat is only a short bus ride or a lovely boat trip away from the madness in Dubrovnik haha, but I'm so glad we choose here as it's so peaceful and picturesque. All the hotel staff say good morning and smile. Hotel is extremely clean. Cleaners are in our room every morning once we have gone out. I say are because we're still here at present haha. If available book a superior sea view room because it's 100% worth it. Our room has a safe, hairdryer, fridge and a lovely walk in shower. Tv is here but there's only one English channel but were barely here anyway. For any water sports you can head to the right as you come out the back of the hotel and walk down the road for about 10 minutes and you will come to a pebble beach with many bars, walk to the end and there's a water sports place called the epidaurum. We hired jet skis and took a kayak out for 2 hours. The bloke there explained everything well and had all the paperwork etc was all very easy. We are only B&B as we knew we would be out during the day all the time, but breakfast is not to bad. There is loads an loads of choice, English tea, orange juice, Apple juice, coffee, hot food and cold food and cereals. Plenty of seating and we've noticed it gets busy about 8.15. Breakfast starts at 7 till 10. The pool on the roof has amazing views, it is cold but you will be thankful for that once the day starts to get really hot. Plenty of lounges on the roof, we haven't had a problem getting one at any time. We haven't tried the massage or spa treatment but reviews say it's good.

Cute but clunky … On arrival our booking wasn’t found on the system (Secret Escapes) so we were placed in a suite (Rm 400) for the first two nights and had to pack up and move to an alternative room on day 3. Our new room on the 8th floor was actually better and more modern than the suite. You can’t fault the location and views from the rooms and restaurant/bar they’re beautiful and Cavtat itself is stunning. We were impressed by the restaurant food, service and value. Can we just mention though it’s directly on the Dubrovnik flight path so a good dozen planes within touching distance over the pool and rooms every day 😅 Now to the clunkiness .. the flow of the day to day in the hotel needs a shake up. Breakfast is a bit of a bun fight between 9-10 with lack of cups, glasses, access to coffee machines etc. This is made worse by the huge chairs you have to navigate to get to/from your table creating a chaotic experience. Breakfast choice and quality is nice though. For anyone who booked through Secret Escapes, the roof top pool photos are far from the reality ! The reality is a concrete box area with around 50 metal loungers squeezed together and a 5x5meter square pool. It feels more Tenerife than tranquil. Again the processes involved to book sunbeds is bizarre ?! .. book and pay for either an awkwardly timed 8am-2pm session, or 2pm - 8pm at reception on the 4th floor via a paper tick sheet system and get your towels here too (20 Euros per couple returned at end of trip). Then head to the 5th flr pool to find your numbered sunbed. Get comfy and wait for another guest to advise your beds been double booked, but this can’t be dealt with by the pool bar so it’s a trek back down to 4th .. we’re a fit couple so it would just be inconvenient, but for anyone with mobility issues it’s going to be a nightmare ! One day we wanted some ice and two wine glasses .. due to no telephone answer from reception I ‘popped’ down from floor 8 to 4, to be advised to go to the restaurant on flr 0, who then advised me it’s actually flr 1 from the bar 😆 … anddddd back up to 8 for a well earned glass of iced Rosé All in all it’s been an ‘ok’ stay, but a few tweaks to the hotels logistics could make it a lot easier and enjoyable on everyone ! .. although we have smashed our 11k steps each day !!

We stayed at Hotel Cavtat from the 6th-11th of July and we booked through Jet2.

The location of the hotel is amazing and you can walk to Cavtat harbour where all restaurants are in less than 10 minutes.

We originally booked a gold twin room with partial sea view and a balcony, when we arrived at around 1:30 we were able to check in a bit early no problem and we had an AMAZING view from our room. The next day (our first proper day there) we discovered a leak in our bathroom and water was coming from the ceiling - it was around 6pm when this happened and it was a Sunday we reported it to reception and someone came out the next morning and had a look … we then didn’t hear anything and had to get our Jet2 rep involved to get some answers (this was around 7pm Monday evening when she heard back and let us know).

The next morning we heard from the reception Manager who was so kind !! He had gone with the builder to the room upstairs where the leak was coming from and they had tried to fix it (it did work for a few hours) since it was fixed we were happy to stay in our room for the remainder of our stay.

The next day the water started dripping through the ceiling again. We went straight to reception and they called the reception manager again to come to assist. He came straight away (as this was around 6/7pm he wasn’t in the hotel) he came to help us and apologised profusely for this issue , he then very kindly upgraded us to an Executive suite for the remaining 2 nights of our stay as well as allowing us to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant free of charge. The reception manager was so beyond kind and went over and above to help us he personally helped us to move all our bags up to our new room and was always on hand to help us should we need. We are so beyond greatful for his kindness and it really really turned our holiday around !!!

The other hotel staff are nice but could be friendlier , before our jet2 rep contacted the reception manager the other staff weren’t really helpful nor communicative with what was going on.

The pool was gorgeous ! It is VERY COLD but is good to cool off in (wouldn’t recommend if you like to spend a lot of time in the pool).

Overall we would come back again, leaks happen and is beyond their control - the way the reception manager handled the situation was amazing and some of the best customer service I have experienced.

We had a great stay -...
