We had to stay here for 2 nights because we had an emergency car service. Big disappointment. Most of the servers were miserable and shouldn't be working in the service industry. The female servers in particular hissed short, one-word sentences. The check-in desk was hardly watched by any staff, although they could usually be found sitting all together in the bar, chatting. Our meat dinners were expensive and we left hungry only to go across the street and order a pizza. The one nice staff member is the woman who I assume to be the owner or manager. She was always smiling and from what I heard, quite multilingual. However, the biggest red flag was the other owner, seemingly her husband. Because check-out was before noon but our car was not ready until 5pm, we asked to leave our luggage and bags at the hotel. He hesitated but agreed. They didn't have any designated room/place at all for this (strange for a hotel) so they had to be in the lobby. I put them near the check-in counter, not knowing it was the wrong place, and he got upset and said "This place is for new clients," gesturing to the front desk. I told him I would move it and he ignored me and did it himself, roughly handling the bags. My partner later asked "Is it safe for the bags here?" right beside the entrance and he immediately shouted, "No, it isn't safe!", showing that he was furious that we left our things behind during our visit to a bigger city. We didn't really have a choice but to go out though because it was hours away for our car to be ready... I took out my jewellery, laptop and valuables and brought them in a backpack because of what he said.... Disastrous customer service. Fortunately, they have a nice pool area and pretty lobby area upstairs. Besides the workers, the atmosphere is lovely! Ubers or taxis can be arranged easily by staff. Based on other reviews, seems we caught most workers...
Read moreThis was a horrible experience. Incredibly unprofessional. They speak in their language about you in front of you, very rude. The hotel is in a village 18-20 kms outside of the main city. Kitchen closes at 10pm and nothing else is around the area. The guy at the front desk said he would give me a ride to the city for 50 euros, I called a cab company and they said 30-35 euros max. Long story short, the man at the front desk was drinking on the job (when i walked in he was drinking at the bar), had his family and friends hanging out at the bar, used profanity when asked for something to eat, became VERY agressive, i started to record fearing he might get physical, and he SLAPPED the phone out of my hand. Oddly enough, He called the police and naturally the police sided with me since the video spoke for itself. There was a lady there too, not sure if she worked there, but it felt like they were all related. They changed their tone when they noticed I was recording and kept saying I'm being impolite. The police told her to be quiet on several occasions.
The cops spoke to me privately and gave me props on the way out and said the guy is a whacko. They also told me to call them if he tried anything after they left. I can provide the video to anyone who wants to see and judge for themselves. After spending all day traveling you'd think you'd able to get a bite to eat at the hotel that boasts having a restaurant.
There was a kid there watching all of this too. This hotel does NOT offer any food apart from cake after 10 pm. There r NO restaurants or food places in the area. The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are okay, NO elevators in this building.
I travel extensively and stay in a LOT of hotels and I've never had an experience like this before. Avoid at all costs. Spend the extra few bucks and stay...
Read moreWell the hotel has lots of potential, being a real ‘airport hotel’ in location. Great rooms with AC and balcony, nice B’fast (coffee/tea, bread with toppings, eggs to order, fruit basket; no cereals/yoghurt), sadly no elevator. Helpful support staff. Dinner restaurant is closed, but good Italian pizza/pasta place nearby.||||The owner/main receptionist however repeatedly showed lack of proper helpfulness. Firstly in deciding to close down the outdoor pool, ‘due to Covid’; it could be a fair decision (though almost all other hotel pools in the area remain open), but it’s deliberate misleading to the tourists that all websites (TA, Expedia, Bookingcom etc), under his responsibility, keep on mentioning the pool. Upon asking personally he did not intend to change that website listing. ||||And secondly offering to arrange hotel transport at 5.30 AM (and a good packed breakfast), instead of tourist themselves ordering a cab for the standard price of 100 kuna. Then upon check-out tells ‘okay tourist tax please pay 150 kuna (20 euro)’, way too much. Later same day found that the proper tax was 20 kuna, and his response by e-mail was ‘yes I meant to say that the remaining 130 kuna was our transport charges. For this service at 5.30 AM we find this a fair price, exactly as we agreed with you’.||||Even if the pool was not important in one’s decision, I would never recommend doing business with...
