Hostel Marinus — Hotel in Općina Malinska-Dubašnica

There are some positive things about this hostel. We had room 2, which was on the ground floor. We had 2 toilets and a shower almost for ourselves, the kitchen is well equipped and the price was really cheap with 20€ per night and per person.

But on the other hand too many things weren't good. The biggest problem was that there was neither AC nor a ventilator and since there were no mosquito nets in front of the windows opening them wasn't an option as well. So we had to survive in this stinky, hot room, sweating like crazy and knowing, that opening the door or window would mean we'll fight with mosquitoes the rest of the night.

The bunk beds are designed for children and they aren't in good condition. All of us were too big for them, the blankets must have a length of about 160 cm (the standard here for adults are 180 cm). The height of the lower part isn't enough to sit up properly in the bed.

The breakfast option was a joke and paying 5€ for it would have been the biggest waste of money ever. Some butter and jam with tasteless bread for that price?

You're pretty far away from everything. Walking to the city center with good speed costs you 30 minutes, the nearest beach around 45 minutes. Having a car is crucial here.

Things in the kitchens fridge were stolen. Bread and cheese weren't there a couple of hours when we woke up. This might happen in every hostel, for me it was the first time ever. Especially because I had packed all my things carefully.

At least I can only say that I should've invested more money in...

The owners are sweet. Nice facility, with a great kitchen that is fully equipped. I came off season in september and they gave me a private room which was kind of them. Although i wouldn't recommend this place if you have no car.

The bus system is infrequent to sveti-vid. The closest frequent bus terminal is in malinska (20 min walking). The way is uphill so if heavy luggage do not even try. Sveti-vid is a remote village.

The owners are almost never at the front desk. I saw them once in my 3 day stay. Although when i did meet them they were super sweet and welcoming. I just wish they were more available to their guest present on off season. I came at night and had no calling so obviously the # they left is difficult to utilize. Luckily their daughter that lives upstairs came down and checked me in or else i would have no idea how to get in. Dangerous situation to encounter especially with late arrival so be prepared with calling.

The daughter has an annoying dog that barks all the time. And is rough. Any movement day or night barking. Get ready for early morning wake up calls from her dog.

A šta da se kaže? Pokušali smo bukirat smještaj za jednu noć preko bukinga i pokazivalo je jedno noćenje za dvoje ljudi 450 kn i još smo nazvali da budemo 100%sigurni i potvrdili su nam taj iznos ali preko bukinga nije bilo moguce bukirat pa smo telefonski rezervirali. Prilikom dolaska u subotu pitali smo dali kojem slučajem moze odjavit nakon 10:00 sati i recepcionar nam je rekao da ce provjerit sa šeficom al da nebi trebalo biti problema. 20 min kasnije došao sam platit i račun je bio 630 kn nisam se bunio jer sam mislio da je to za 2 nočenja posto smo pitali da se kasnije odjavimo drugi dan. U nedelju u 12 sati kuca sobarica … kaze da smo se odavno trebali odjavit prošlo je 10sati i ona mora počistit sobu … kazem ne platili smo da produžimo.Ona ode i dolazi onaj isti bahati recepcioner kaže … citiram : HALO VI STE TREBALI U 10 SATI ODJAVITI IZ SOBE STA SE ČEKA? Ja kažem pa platili smo da produžimo : on kaze ne platili ste. Jedno noćenje za dvoje ljudi .. 630kn noćenje za dvoje ljudi ???? Kaže da. Jer plača se po krevetu. 330 kn je po krevetu kaze bahato recepcionar … Preko telefona nam rečeno da je 450 kn za dvije osobe jedno noćenje a i booking je slicno pokazivao .. zasto se preko bookinga ne moze bukirat ? Zašto nas se uživo prevarilo to samo RECEPCIONAR zna . Ugl jako bezobrazno ne profesionalno i drsko sa njegove strane . Nije nam rekao da ne možemo produžit vec na moj upit zašto ne možemo produžiti rekao je ne može se bukirani smo a hostel polu prazan ..ukratko ne preporučujem ovaj...
