We had a great time at Bluesun Hotel Kaj; we actually ended up extending twice, and would have extended even more if it weren't for obligations at home. ||||First of all, we'd like to commend the extremely kind staff, from the reception to the bar to the restaurant, who really gave it their best and were always happy, cheerful and happy to help. Special shout out to the reception who organized a very helpful transfer for us, the bar staff who washed our baby's milk bottles, and the waiters at the restaurant who were always impeccably patient with us and our requests.||||Secondly, the hotel has a really nice style, being modern and spacious, yet architecturally designed to blend into the traditional architecture of Hrvatsko Zagorje and surrounded by grass and flowers. Its spa is nice, and it even has a kids playground with a swing, a slide and some other neat facilities. It's located just a minute walk away from the central shrine of Marija Bistrica, yet it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Well done.||||Thirdly, we would be amiss to not mention the incredible food, especially their unique and delicious cakes that were the highlight of our day. Even though we stayed there during the COVID-19 pandemic times with a discount, the hotel wasn't saving on anything, and the buffet and menu choices were delightful at every meal.||||Finally, speaking of corona, the hotel staff strictly adhered to the safety guidelines, with disinfectant everywhere, everyone wearing masks, crowd limits and cleaning breaks in various locations, etc. - yet it was done so unobtrusively and discreetly that you as the guest could simply forget that anything out of the ordinary was going on.||||We will definitely come back here, maybe as early as this winter, and will make sure to stay at Bluesun hotels wherever we encounter them in Croatia (and, hopefully, one day...
Read moreLovely rooms with terrace. Breakfast with plenty of choice (though my experience with 4star experience hotels in the region makes me say that there is room for improvement). You have classic and eletric bikes for usage (please make sure you reserve the electric ones the day before as there is a high demand for them while there are only 2 bikes). We had the wellness package so enjoyed the use of spa area + massage. We had robes in the room (i don't know if this is a standard or goes just with the package). In front of the hotel there is a large parking but it was crowded all the time since there is no ramp so I asume other people use it. There was an issue one night and alarm kept going off (maybe due to the wedding party in the restaurant). For sure this didn't impact the lovely time we had. All the staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend to take the bikes and enjoy the scenary + go to Bolfanski vrh (winary) - great food and...
Read moreBeautiful small hotel with spacious rooms, excelent food and very helpfull staff. We had half-board, breakfast buffet with standard food choice, dinner was quite rich and you could choose from variety of meals. There is social center as part of the offer, with table soccer, pikado board and library, so you cannot be bored. Zagreb iz 20 mins away, and lot of small places to visit around Marija Bistrica, where you can enjoy in excellent food and good wine. In hotel they have nice spa oasis which contains 2 saunas (turkish bath and bio/finish sauna), whirpool, and massage pool. Also there is resting area with heated chairs. I recommend you taking private spa, which is excellent option for couples. You get free beverage and whole area is only for you, so you can relax and truly enjoy the romance it offers. We also had couples massage, and...
