Recommendation: bring an extension cord from your home. There were only three electric sockets in our room, of which only one was located near one of the beds. So if you're anything like me and have multiple devices that need charging you will need an extension cord. I asked for it at the reception but they didn't have any, so I bought one at Omišalj Shopping Center for 50 kuna. The interior design is pretty outdated, felt like I took a time machine trip back to the '80's, but the place was clean and tidy and that's what matters the most to me. I need a clean place to sleep in and take a shower, because I spend most of my days on summer vacation outside. The food was very good, especially the cakes of which I couldn't get enough. I spent 10 nights at this place and selectiom of food served for breakfast can feel a little bit repetitive after some time. There is only a limited amount of time you can eat eggs for breakfast prepared in the exact same way. I was staying there with a friend and we booked this place in May and stayed in August. Compared to many, many other places this place was very affordable and every day we had two meals. The view from the nearby beach is ugly because it directly faces the LNG terminal with its huge silos. But all in all, I would say there's an excellent ratio between money spent and the experience we've received. And last, but not the least, the staff is...
Read moreTry something else, somewhere else! Omisalj itself isn't a worth visiting location in Croatia. Adriatic Hotel is a very poor choice, yet a good one (I assume, since it was overcrowded) in the town. The hotel is situated very close to the sea and has rooms with sea view but is very old (builded in the '70 and probably never modernized after that). The rooms are not clean and are very bad smelling (never experienced that before- we've been a large group and all the rooms were very bad smelling) perhaps due to the very old furniture and carpets. The hotel doesn't have an elevator so consider climbing those many circular stairs (the hotel has 3 floors) with the heavy luggage. Everything in this hotel is extremely old stuff and I believe the management doesn't care about it. The food on the other hand is very tasty and offers variety at dinner (not the case with breakfast - when you can only have the boringly same food); notice that the drinks are not included in the meals (you have to pay extra - a lot - for them) and that the meals are very poor in fresh fruits. Over all I will not return nor to Adriatic Hotel nor to Omisalj which is a very boring place. Istria on the other hand...
Read moreWe have been staying here one night as a overnight stay for another trip to the south of Croatia. The hotel is in such a state in which, however, does not make of ourselves better. It is not for demanding clients and also the corresponding the cheap prices. The service (not rooms) is in my opinion better than the 2 stars. Rooms are old with old furniture, slightly damaged but still functional. Room and bathroom are clean but smell a strange odor. Beds were hard but comfortable.||A separate chapter is food. Breakfast was the same every day but delicious. Dinner was very well prepared, tasty and has a good selection of dishes, and salads too. Desserts were pleasant refreshment. Drinks with dinner were purchased.||The staff was very nice, helpful, good language skills. People in the hotel postponed hotel imaginary one category higher.||The problem was the wifi, which was only in the reception and first floor.||Nice environment and surroundings of the hotel spoiled only view of the oil terminal, which is just...
