Villa Begovina — Hotel in Općina Podbablje

Our family planned a trip to Croatia a couple of months in advance. As a family of 3 adults and two kids, 11 and 4 years old, we looked for a place to stay 20-30 min away from the heated sea area. We planned to drive 12-13 hours away from Germany. It took us a while to find a villa for our 2-week stay in the mountain with a fantastic view and amenities. Eventually we did it was beautiful Vila Begovina. At the moment of our search the villa was a brand new construction without posted reviews. However posted pictures described a mountain and sunset view, pool, jacuzzi, huge terrace kids playground , the summer kitchen with grill and many activities for all day . We fell in love with Villa Begovina months before coming there. Wonderful couple Ante and Ivana met us on August 19 at 4:00 p.m.. Ante was always with contact with us, updating our ETA. After a long drive, we got home. Both of them made it to fill you home. The warm hospitality and delicious snacks, homebaked bread, cheese, fruits, cold beer, and wine made our stay relaxed from the first minute. Ante gave us all the info regarding the villa, groceries, restaurants, and amenities around the villa. While my family slept in, I’ve enjoyed the sunrise and the silence of nature, ( especially after living in busy New York) beautiful view and a small talk with Ante, who came every morning to make sure the pool and jacuzzi is cleaned and ready to use. After breakfast, we enjoyed pool time and sunbathing with cold drinks and fruits. The sun was hot, so we stayed home until 2.00 p.m. After , we went to explore nearby beaches. All of them were good, but one of them - Brella beach met all our expirations. We had the same relaxing routine for the first week: no rain, just sun and very comfortable weather. We were often told we come during the best season of the year. On Saturday, Ante brought us a lot of fresh grilled seafood, fish, homemade bread and wine. It was unexpected surprise from the host family. Especially nowadays , in the world of electronics, where your usually don meet the host., let a line the fact Ante and Ivanna were always there for help and nice talk. During the stay one of kids got sick, we asked for the nearest pharmacy, besides giving us direction within 15 min we got everything we mind be needing for our kiddo. We also got so many suggestions and ideas for a rainy day. At the and of our stay We had a fantastic barbeque party with Ante’s and Ivana’s kids . Spending time together and knowing each other and spending wonderful family time together. Ivanna made a most delicious dessert and Ante served domestic wine and meat.

Villa Begovina is truly a dream come true! The house has everything you could possibly need – it’s beautifully designed, perfectly equipped, and set in a peaceful, stunning location. But what made our stay truly unforgettable were the wonderful hosts. Ante and his wife are simply amazing – their warmth and hospitality go beyond words. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome and cared for. It was hard to say goodbye, and we honestly didn’t want to leave. The surroundings of Imotski offer plenty of opportunities for an active holiday – from exploring beautiful lakes and trying canyoning, to riding quads or walking across the impressive Skywalk bridge.
