Villa Javor — Hotel in Općina Podstrana

Staff=extremely polite and friendly||||Security=I felt that all my belongings were safe and secure at all times.||||View= spectacular view of island brac and solta.||||Location=just next to split, I believe it is called podstrana. Just over the area is a gorgeous village also believed to be called podstrana. It is a must see, the view from that village allows you to see most of all the main islands from Croatia.||||Beach= I don't understand why people are saying that the nearest beach is 15 min away when there is literally a pebble beach with a cafe bar right accross... ( less then 2min walk).||||Technology=WiFi fully operational in the rooms and TV aswell.||||Overall, it surely isn't a 5 star hotel but it definitely deserves the merit of a great place when it comes to price,safety and location. The son was extremely friendly and does speak English. As for his father, he seems to be extremely friendly, only if it wasn't for the language barrier, I'm sure it would have been even more pleasant. I strongly recommend this...

When we checked in the owner spoke little english and he hgave us a one bedroomed apartment with a patio door that would not close, the sink in the bathroom was blocked and the kitchen smelled even though we had booked a two bedroomed apartment. We brought our confirmation sheet down to him and he had to ring his son who spoke english. He could not understand why we wanted the bigger room when there were only two of us. He said he would contact our travel agents in the morning as we arrived on the Sunday and they would be unopen!!! We were moved the next day to a much bigger and brighter apartment. Room cleaning consisted of leaving clean towels and emptying the bin, we had to ask for clean sheets. The restaurant was never open even though the nearest place to eat is a pizzeria 2 km away. There is a beach bar which closes early in the evening so if you want to go out for a meal and drinks you must get the bus to Split which is approximately 10km away. Loma 3-10.9.2015. Varasimme hotellin Apollo-matkojen sivuilta ja ihan sen perusteella, että sijainti hyvä, ravintola, meri lähellä, edullinen ym. Saavuimme hotellille; odotimme n. vajaan tunnin, että vastaanottoon saapui henkilö (tämä kertoi olevansa siivooja ym.) ja hän soitti jollekkin, joka sitten neuvoi tätä henkilöä antamaan meille huoneen avaimen. Huoneessa kokolattiamatto, pieni jääkaappi lattialla, sänky joka narisi niin mahdottomasti. Huomasimme, että alueella ei ole yhtään ravintolaa, missä voisi käydä ihan sillain oikeesti syömässä, joten pyysimme saada vaihtaa huoneen missä on keittiö. Se onnistui 80e lisämaksusta ja yllätyksenä tuli vielä jonkun veron maksaminen siitä alkuperäisestä hinnasta jonka olimme hotelliin suorittaaneet Apollo-matkojen kautta. Ennakkotiedoissa oli, että hotellissa on ravintola ym. Ei ollut. Hotelli oli kuollut, meidän lisäksi hotellissa kävi muutamana yönä satunaisia matkailijoita, enimmäkseen saimme mieheni kanssa olla kahden. Eli Apollo-matkojen sivuilla esttely hotellista ei pitänyt paikkaansa. Tätä hotellia ei enää löytynyt heidän sivuiltaan. Onneksi alakerrassa oli kauppa josta ostettiin sitten eväät. Lähin ruokaravintola oli n. 3-4 km päässä jonne piti mennä bussilla. Hotellihuonetta ei käyty siivoamassa yhtään kertaa viikon matkamme aikana. Ei ollut konvehteja tyynyllä. Liinavaatteita ei vaihdettu yhtään kertaa, vessaa ei pesty eikä kokolattiamattoa imuroitu. Olin hyvin yllättynyt, koska aikaisemmin muiden maiden hotelleissa huoneet siivotaan ilman, että niistä täytyisi erikseen mainita. Hotellissa vastaanotossa nuori nainen oli todella ystävällinen. Podstrana alueena ihana, hotelli hyvällä paikalla, mutta jos et itse halua tehdä ruokaa en suosittele tätä aluetta. Omis kaupunki vieressä...
