This is a good hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, nice clean rooms, and a location which is close to all areas within Dalmatia, but away from the crowds. About 1 mile from the centre of Posedarje, but walkable with ease and a little care along the road. The hotel and in fact the majority of the area are more set for German and Austrian customers, but don't let that worry you. The staff speak good english, but it means there's no kettle in the room! We bought a multi-powered little travel kettle from a caravan shop, and that served us well for brews on the balcony.||Breakfast, whilst the hotel is quiet, is limited, and we'd usually arrive at 9am and find the choices dwindling fast. Don't let that put you off, as one morning, the receptionist heard me mumble about only having white bread available, and she quickly got us out own basket of brown. You get 3 or 4 choices of cereals, meats, cheeses, olives tomatoes, yoghurts, milk and a very good coffee machine.||If you decide to select the half-board option, you get a three course meal for 10 euros each - we didn't, but saw many enjoying their meals from our balcony.||The room we had was a good size, and the quality of the furniture was good albeit a bit boring in taste. The main thing was we had a very comfy bed, arguably one of the best we've had, which is the key factor in a room. The bathroom was clean and functional, although the shower head wasn't attached to the post, so you had to use one hand to hold the head, and the other to wash. Once again, a minor problem, especially for a shower which was very powerful and could get very hot. One key indicator of good quality is the toilet paper - and this wasn't some cheapo stuff, so another good tick.||The room had a choice of euro sockets to plug in chargers, and the tv had CNN and BBC World News channels, keeping us upto date with events back home, and some of the other international channels had english programmes, if you so wished to have a quiet night in.||We took a mosquito plug in, and on the second day, the cleaner had left us a second one with spare tablets - a nice touch and another indicator of good service.||So far, mainly so good. Well, there were some faults. The hotel in on a steep hill, so there are a lot of steps from the car park to the beach. The building is a solid concrete one, and metal chairs being dragged on balcony's can be heard clearly. The walls, being solid, also don't stop sound too well, so you can hear your neighbours if they get a little noisy.||The price will seem a little steep, compared to other European destinations, but it's the norm for Croatia. To make up for it, meals and drinks are quite cheap, and good quality, so it will even itself out.||Location wise, this is good if you want to travel around and see all the sights the Dalmatian region has to offer, from the Krka waterfalls, the gorgeous beaches at Simuni through a host of other picturesque or spectacular sights. One of the main roads is right behind the hotel, and the motorway junction is the other end of the village. Just a note, the motorways have tolls, and the roads are mainly good quality, so save the pennies, take a little longer, but savour the journey and sights.||Overall, this was a good hotel, and overcoming it's minor problems is easily rectified. If we travel to the are again, we will...
Read moreBased on the good reviews, we decided to spend one night at this hotel during our Dalmatian tour. What a disappointment.
The room was relatively clean, but the bathroom was terrible. There were pubic hairs around the toilet and in the shower, the trash bin was dusty, the shower was clogged so water barely came out, the cabin door hardly opened, and there was mold on the tiles. I honestly felt disgusted taking a shower.
The balcony furniture was also in poor condition – the chair cushions were dirty and torn, which made it unpleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view.
Breakfast was on the level of a 2-star hotel, not 4 as advertised. The cold cuts looked several days old and had already changed color, the glass of water I received with my coffee was dirty as if it hadn’t been washed in a long time, and the tablecloths in the restaurant were stained. This is nothing like what we usually experience in a proper 4-star hotel.
The view from the room was nice, and the small private beach is charming, but it’s simply not worth the money we paid for one night with breakfast. No matter how convenient the beach is, I definitely won’t be coming back — the hotel is not clean, tidy, or maintained the way...
Read moreCharming little hotel on their own private beach. Their dinner was excellent. Rooms were impeccably clean. I would have rated it a 5 but access for a senior was a bit of a challenge, especially in the rain. I think the steps to the hotel should be noted in the description. If they were and I missed that then please ignore that part of my review. The staff upon arrival exceeded expectations when she saw how upset I was because of my husband’s illness. She went above and beyond to help us. Entering and leaving through the gate required us to get out of the car to push a button. We did get wet because of the unusual rains. Just sharing some of the challenges for future reference. Great place and we would return now knowing what to...
